Although I still have a few hours until the new year, I can confidently say that 2018 has probably been the worst year of my life yet.

In terms of games, I'm glad I started branching out and trying some different things; Bayonetta was an exciting surprise. For the coming year I want to get good at Vampire Savior and continue playing through more single-player games.

In all, this has been a pretty good year. I'm one step closer to graduating college, I found a job that works great with my schedule where I have fun doing what I'm doing. I live pretty nicely and within my means. I can say I'm truly grateful for all that I have. This year was busy though, this last semester I had a full course load, and often had around twenty hours of work each week, meaning I really didn't have time to enjoy any hobbies or activities. All I can say is that I'm not a fan of forced team work when the other person doesn't want to participate at all. There are definitely things I would like to change, but those will come when I get there.

For video games, I don't really know, I had a decent time when I could make time, and as I usually do I focused on older games. I honestly can't even recall what new games I played besides Smash Bros. I'm currently waiting for the new year, but I'll either be asleep or playing something with my roommate, the new year has never been that interesting for me.

Official year of the backlog. Didn't play anything made in 2018 and only played things that were new to me. 2019 can be better, always got to hope for the best.

Completely unremarkable, I hardly even remember it.

This year I finally failed uni after entering a major at which I suddenly became shit once I put a foot on the university even though I was quite good before, but I'm going back in 2019's first semester to do something different, so I guess it wasn't 100% shit. Also, this year the level of bullshit in the video game industry was turned up 900%, but at least we saw the beginning of what's hopefully the crash I've been waiting for.

Year of the ganoo/trannux desktop with lots of games running natively, but without being attached to the cancer that's Steam. Also, the death of Steam and every jewish game store.

For vidya, 2018 was horrible. Only a few good games released overall. However, 2019 is actually not looking too shabby from where I'm standing.

I'd want to be more interested, but I don't trust Bamco, being that they've established themselves as too lazy to not make the entire west suffer for particular countries' ratings systems, and while being multiplat, is set for the PS4 which gives SCEA ability to exert influence (and again, see Bamco's laziness).

It's a nice idea, but I find it highly doubtful one will ever happen again, even on just a regional scope (the one in '83 being a NA focused crash).
