I just got my switch softmodded, and im playing a few games already. I'm trying to get tinfoil to fucking install my nsp file of valkyria chronicles 4, since the pc version isn't cracked yet. However it;s throwing me errors, directly on the tinfoil program not the nintendo error codes. I don't know if it's because the xci I converted was bad or my switch is on 4.1.0.
The error code: 0x00236
The shit it states before the error code: "(insert file name here).cnmt.nca is unreadable! You may have a bad dump, fs)mitm may need to be removed, or your firmwar version may be too low to decrypt it"

Got a Switch recently on 1.0.0. Updated to 5.1.0 using ChoiDujourNX with AutoRCM enabled so hopefully can downgrade if it's ever needed. I'm on the latest Atmosphere and installed games + updates with Tinfoil. So far they all worked fine.
I tried Retroarch and the PSX emulation on Switch is shit. My phone does PSX emulation better using the same ReARMed core with higher resolution enabled. For some reason DKC2 and DKC1 won't run. They just start stuck on a black screen, but DKC3 does run. I wanted DKC2 to run since it's my favorite, but I can only get the shitty GBA version of it running. It might be problems with exFAT as I heard it's unreliable for Homebrew. When I first copied all my roms a bunch of the folders could not be read by RetroArch and in Shell NX they showed up as files rather than folders with a file size of zero. So I created the folders in Shell NX, made sure they could be seen by RetroArch, then copied all my roms to them again. After that RetroArch reads those games but DKC 1 and 2 are not working. Maybe I should copy them again. The SNES9x core usually runs those games so it's probably related to the shitty exFAT filesystem being unreliable as people have said.
I already beat Mario Odyssey, but there's still tons of shit to do. I'm almost at 400 moons at this point and I think there's 500. There are things in the shop now that cost a fortune. I was hoping I could go into one of the 2D sections and use the koopa shell exploit to get unlimited coins or something, but it doesn't seem to work.

That's because OP is a tard and posted a fake emulator.
Only Two valid in developement emulator for now
>RyujiNX
>Yuzu
First one was the first to make any real progress, then fell behind only to catch up recently for reasons I'll elaborate on when talking about Yuzu, it's primarily focused on Windows and getting shit to run quick n dirty without too much sacrifice in accuracy, they share a lot of their stuff with Yuzu in fact, main difference is that the emulation is multithreaded so it should be faster, dev is some brazillian """""""girl""""""" but never had any real drama on that side so don't care.
Yuzu is the second one, got started by the Citra dev, more focused on accuracy, pretty much singlehandedly got the first few fully playable 3D titles, generally more accurate it's also single threaded, but then because the devbase is some resetera circlejerk they decided to halt any progress regarding games that have leaked, and to this day you can't mention Smash near them without getting b& and any and all code contribution that makes Smash boot is rejected or ignored (Same shit happened with Pokemon Let's Go), best yet since release the only progress they made is adding telemetry, the RyujiNX users/devs are having quite the laugh considering they had the thing running slightly before official launch which basically means they're gonna steal most of the patreon shekels from Yuzu.

I'm confused, Yuzu's latest blog post talks about them working on getting Let's Go into a playable state. They're not ignoring it, are they? Maybe they were banning people for talking about it before the game officially came out, but the Citra team was already known to be a bunch of faggots that require you to dump shit from your own hardware and ban you if they suspect you're a pirate. If they are actively allowing themselves to fall behind in development, that's even more retarded than what I thought they were.

Now with smash you simply can't mention the game at all in any capacity near them.
> that require you to dump shit from your own hardware
That's not necessarily them being faggots though (refusing to implement alternative solutions when someone PRs it is though), it's really never gonna impede piracy and needing to make a proper replacement for those files end to be a lot of work that can be better spent elsewhere early on.

For some silly reason I thought those keys would fix this.
Which version of Microsoft Visual C++ 201X Redistributable are they using for this? Why didn't they include it with the download? It's Redistributable specifically for this reason. I must be illiterate because I'm not seeing anything about it in their instructions for installing yuzu. Did they assume everyone already has it?
Downloading something off of Microsoft's website feels less safe than a sketchy Russian torrent.

The point of backing up your NAND is to go back to its unhacked state. If you burned efuses when it was softmodded it's going to be an issue. That's why you do the autoRCM bit with ChoiDujourNX. ChoiDujourNX does the firmware updates, the autoRCM prevents the switch from booting up normally, which is the cause of the efuses burning.
At least that's how I understand it.

Played Mario Odyssey. Got well over 500 moons at this point. There are ways to grind for coins, most of them are so tedious I couldn't stand them, but there's this one beanstalk stage near the end of Bowser's Kingdom where you just grab boost flowers and run in a straight line through coins while doing a few jumps. You don't even have to touch the joystick. It's stupid easy and not as tedious as the slots. It's still grinding, but the music player makes it a bit more bearable. I eventually got all that expensive bullshit in the shop. The 9999 coin skeleton outfit looks interesting, but the skull really should be hollow because the eye sockets are just kinda carved into it making it look solid which doesn't look right at all.
Wasn't there supposed to be more content for this game though? I think I saw a leak or something that had footage of Isle Delfino from Mario Sunshine. Must not be available yet.

1. Format your MicroSD to FAT32 with a 32GB partition. (Windows might not read it otherwise)
2. Put all the necessary files onto it including ChoiDujourNX and the firmware you want to update to.
3. Get into RCM mode. Push a payload for Hekate or whatever it is you're booting.
!! First and foremost made a backup of your NAND and BIS Keys !!
Instructions here: https://guide.sdsetup.com/#/safetyprecautions
4. After NAND backup. Get into CFW. Open Homebrew Menu. Run ChoiDujourNX and install the exFAT version of the firmware you want.
(ChoiDujourNX enables AutoRCM by default to keep you from burning fuses so you can downgrade firmware later)
5. Format the MicroSD to exFAT (full sized partition) and put the same files back onto it.
6. When you boot back into CFW you should be on the newer firmware with ability to read exFAT.
If you're using Hekate there is a file named hekate_ipl.ini In that ini file under [CFW] here are some settings you can use:
(for evading fuse burns on the cart reader when updating firmware disable cart slot using this)
kip1patch=nogc
(for making firmware updater ChoiDujourNX work properly on firmware 1.0.0)
debugmode=1
fullsvcperm=1

Yes and yes. Also, it worked. Thanks.
Apparently it has something to do with the Universal C Runtime intended for Win10 being used, and you need a special update to make it compatible with Win7, Win8, and other Windows OSes. If you had Windows updates enabled, you'd already have this. If you disabled Windows updates as fast as you could, you probably don't.
For those with the same issue, you can visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows to grab a link to whichever one you need specifically.

Does any x86 console have an emulator? I haven't kept up with that since I haven't been interested. For DOS PC games there's DOSbox and derivatives, and as far as I can tell, qemu is the best (only?) x86_64 PC emulator there is, as I'm assuming all the money is in virtualization as it's actually usable right now as opposed to "some day." I assume all the newer x86 consoles (PS4+, Xboxes) have and will continue to have the same problem. I fear if Nintendo moves toward x86, we can say goodbye to full emulation as everything will be hypervisors from then on.
Of course as shit gets more and more complicated, I imagine we would've seen people having to run emulators within emulators eventually anyway even without virtualization. Imagine running PS9 games in a closed source emulator on Windows 10 build 6 gorillion in qemu on Loonix/*BSD/Haiku/other meme OS for a hypothetical x86-killer architecture.
