4. Due to asshats in the thread,links to files will be purposely misleading (have spaces,lines,keys&passwords split in the post),including torrent hashes.

The steam page for disgaea pc shows that they added bicubic filtering on October 15th 2016, and other fixes, but I cant find a cracked version of the game with the fixes that were out on that date. The normal places only show the version when the game first came out or a version with some fixes that where made before this date. Or should I get the base game and search for the fixes online? Damn that was a pain in the ass to scan. Constantly had me switching color curve settings, editing over glue and creases, removing 6 gorillian specs foreign material. I made sure it was worth preserving. If you want a PNG version, then just ask and I'll make one. Archive.org hosts a lot of ROMs and fullsets. They're pretty tsundere about it, though, and locked down most of the files so only registered users can get them. Here's a magnet for the 2018 No-Intro set. It's one big (around 38 gigs) .7z containing zipped ROMs. If you want to keep it all, I recommend running a script to decompress all the ROMs and recompress them with 7-zip; I saved around 10 gigs this way.

Most modern emulators can load directly from .zip and .7z, as long as there's only one game in the archive. I altered a script I found online to extract a ROM from a .zip, compress it (Ultra, 256 MB dictionary size) to a .7z with the same name, delete the original, and repeat for every .zip in the directory.

Every time I download a .cia of Ever Oasis or Hyrule Warriors, install it, and try to run it my 3DS throws an exception on launch. It only happened to me with those two games, on a Luma 3DSXL, and then on a Luma N3DSXL I got secondhand to give the 3DSXL away. I have downloaded both from two different torrents, could both be the same bad dump? Is there some step i'm missing? I have installed dozens of other .cias no problem and they work just fine.

I've decided to start on this one. Maybe I should try and replace this scanner I'm currently using. It definitely does the job but I want to see if it's possible to have one that deals with screening better.
Anyway, I don't think this one will take too long. It uses a lot of purple and gray which is hard to emulate but once I find the right setting this sound go by quickly. I doubt I'll need to do much editing either. Hopefully, I'll be done before next week. Then I can try and tackle the Nitroplus Masters book. It's mainly has art from Namaniku ATK (Muramasa and Chaika artist).

Looking around on the easily searchable sites, there might be good ones for current updated releases but I haven't found one that even comes close to hosting the 2,000+ that GOD had, especially the games that have been removed from the site. Also, some sites don't even have the most up-to-date version of the games. The best I could find are one with less than 1,000 and is up-to-date from a quick glance and one with a little over 1,000 but isn't as up-to-date for gog releases.
IGG really fucked up, got greedy and got rid of the best up-to-date source of gog releases for very petty reasons. They provided a better service and automated the process finely. Since piracy sites usually take from each other to share on their site, wouldn't you want the best one around to still be around to take from? If I was operating a piracy site, I would like a good and organized resource to stick around as long as they can so I can copy as much as I can. If their goal was to take down competition, I doubt anyone would use IGG anymore after the shit they pulled so they sabotaged their own good name, what little they had once they had cryto miners found on their shit.

Not at all compared to recent competitors like HEIF and AVIF that use a single frame from video codecs (h.265 and AV1 respectively). Windows 10, macOS, iOS, and Android have native HEIF support and AVIF support is in the works. HEIF has been around for 3 years while AVIF came out this year. Netflix is already using AVIF which is a good sign. Unlike HEIF and h.265, AVIF and AV1 are royalty free and are actually even more efficient. The reason why we were stuck with JPEG for so long was because there wasn't a good royalty free competitor until now.

I don't play modern games, but I've been through similar crap with some Vita mods where people are distributing basically the entirety of a game's data just to add some crappy tits to them, and for example, what is 900MB uncompressed and 500MB compressed crushes to <1MB when it's handled as a delta patch. Evem worse than that, one of them is about 1GB compressed for the same reason and also crushes to <1MB as delta patches, but it's actually preferrable to do the big download since you need the game's official patch for the delta and that's twice as big.

In slight defense of my example, actually getting decrypted Vita content to patch against is a bit annoying while the huge ones are drop-in. But with that large a saving in filesize it's a no-brainer, and also means less likelihood of copyright takedowns.

I know that exists (ideally heavily implied by the attempt at an underlining tone) however it seems that most professional computer users not in IT would, what a competely unshocking surprise.

In an ideal world (probably only for five minutes) that would be the case, however Windows (unfortunately still a large majority OS on desktops) can not read .sh and so would need at least a .bat wrapper. In both cases 7zip being installed probably can not assumed in all end user cases and dealing with some end user reports can be an experience all on its own.

On a basic technical level checksums will work fine. A major issue is ensuring that the hashes are correct and in the end it all comes down to trust.

We had a thread about this months ago, No-Intro never had a contestable methodology, or replicable test kits. The example you are looking for is Debian image builds, with GPG signatures and myriad of download methods, including bittorrents.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting, since I just implied making simple delta executables is easy as traversing a dictionary with multiple binaries. Ever wonder why Fitgirl has 2-9 binaries, and if an update comes up, just the patch is released, being just 1-3 binaries? Take a guess.

Depends the version, and depends the packaging: a wise releaser also embeds even if temporarily MINGW, which is a fancy .bat wrapper for .sh commands on precompiled Windows binaries of common *nix binaries.
NSIS makes it easy to combine in one neat "wizard."

Who said SFX needed a working version of 7zip installed? Are you not reading what we are discussing? There are ways to release data even in delta form compressed and forward compatible that scene releasers are ignoring to implement, even with modicum methodology practice

According to the claims page the BO last logged in '2016-04-04 18:57:51'. I have moderation experience (both as a BO and vol) and would be fine with making a claim, so there is another option to consider.
