For my first Ace Combat game I've been playing 5, it's been really fucking solid so far, however this shit turns me off.

I sorta understand PS2 emulation, but PSX emulation is really light on resources and has been for years now. Unless you are using a Chromebook, you can emulate a PSX system on it with some emulator whether it be ePSXe, Mednafen, XEBRA or PCSX-R.

i just saw AC: Ass horizon 75% off on steam and thought "i remember hating that game but it cant be that bad after all these years" i was wrong, its fucking awful. but i did find Kei Nagase easter egg in the cut scenes. she sits in the briefing room in the corner looking all cute and shit.

I think it really speaks to how good the Ace Combat series is that my first game was Assault Horizon, and yet not only did I finish it, but I actually thought it was pretty decent and it led to me discovering the rest of the series. Looking back on it, if it existed in a vacuum AH would be seen as an okay game with potential, but now that I've played the rest of the series it's just… dogshit. You really feel the freedom DFM takes away when you've experienced the rest of the series, those bomber sections were pretty unnecessary, and the helicopter sections are just so BORING.

You can play the first three ace combat games on PS2 you know? Use popsloader and run them off any usb stick, they work perfectly unless you're using component cables on a lcd tv, in which case the games will not display at all due to most, if not all, lcd tvs not supporting 240p but then again

I'm getting to it. Ace Combat 2 has some really awesome features for a PS1 game like all the instant replay features, and the UI is nice and snappy. It's a huge upgrade from Air Combat. Dog fighting is way more fun too.

Already have the translation of AC3 patched up and ready to play when I finish 2, then onto the holy trinity.
