No. MMORPGs are pretty much dead (even the decent ones like Warframe are going downhill), stick with your backlog of single player games.

the game is garbage and is dying fast i've heard. the game could have been good, but they refused to fix animation canceling which totally fucks pvp and turns pve into a boring script fest. the biggest issue really is their approach to balance. everything gets nerfed as a way to prevent power creep. in practice this means they nerf your resources so what the game really comes down to is fighting your stamina or magic bar instead of fighting npcs or players. it's not fun

If you want to get into TES you should check out the daggerfall unity port or morrowind, then you can proceed to mod the shit out of everything

MMOs are not worth playing by yourself, as a rule. If you missed the train and the MMO failed to carve enough of a niche then there is no point joining late. The social aspect is why people play these games, it is the life blood of MMOs even the Korean grindfests encourage socializing with other players.

Since this game barely has anything going for it and Bethesda didn'the capitalize on those few good things it's pretty much in the final phase before it dies for good.

It honestly baffles me this shit still is around. I played it during the first closed Beta until the latter ended, then got an invite for the second round and stopped playing halfway through because shit just felt so fucking bland.

If you want an MMO, play on a WoW private server; they're 100% free.

If you want to play an online RPG, go with Phantasy Star Online on fan servers. At least it's free. And fun. And not buggy as shit.

Just do yourself a favor and stop right there. I kinda get where people who want to try MMOs are coming from, you're expecting to be able to explore a new exciting world, go on adventures and participate in epic battles with your friends and strangers, maybe even meet a few cool people to hang out with. But that's not what's going to happen. You're going to spend way too much time grinding levels and just trying to get gear that's kinda okay, random people are almost always blithering idiots and your friends will probably quit long before you get to the point where you're going to start doing dungeons or the times they're on will be wildly different then yours. Go play something single player or fap.

This. i had soy friend strongarm me into playing FFXIV, it's literally not giving a single fuck about the story because you need to level up in order to get to endgame ASAP to play with my friend, and just grinding dungeon for an eternity with retards with no brain cells that don't know the simplest of WoW mechanics.

That is the worst fucking way to play FFXIV though, Granted the base game story is generic JRPG number 2312312312312 but it does have a few good parts in it. Not to mention the side quests can be pretty funny if you actually read shit. First expansion has a really good story though and i absolutely recommend reading it. I dont know why your friend would want you to skip through the story I am assuming your friend made you do it.

i try to pay attention to the important shit but the generic mmo missions i just skip the dialogue and get through, my mate just desperately wanted me to get to 70, i stopped playing after ragequitting in a dungeon because i wiped for the 500th time screaming in the chat to dodge the obvious mega death kill aoe attacks the enemy was doing.

Honestly I cant really blame you for it. I do think the game has one of the better communities but even then you get some absolute retards that really makes you wonder how they even managed to start up the game. Most of these people are French, and you can exclude certain languages from the dungeon finder but even with that you might get some baguette screwing everything up.

Be wary of of anyone going "Salut" at the start.
