Has anyone played on a 4k with GYSNC with this refresh level? For only fucking 27"? Maybe I could see if it was 35" or more, but 27" just seems like they're putting it right up your ass. Another $1k and you could have a top-of the-line 55" OLED. Anyone think the price will go down after Christmas?

Fucking 4 years ago, they had a 65" OLED Samsung that I was getting my money together and was literally planning on buying the next day, Boxing Day, for $1,800 plus taxes. Listened to my asshole older brother: "they CANNOT raise prices the day after Christmas."

Next Day, woke up, checked amazon and thought I was seeing things– raise the price? Samsung gooks no shit DOUBLED IT. I guess that week apple, samsung, and all the other major phone makers met and agreed to use OLED on all their future phones. So by next day my $1,800 TV was $4,000.

So when when i see a rip-off like this and think no fucking way can they maintain that price, I think back to me and the OLED a few yrs back and who fucking knows? BTW, if you watch movies or even play consoles now and then or use a Steam attachment to transmit the signal, OLED is the first development in TV since flat screen to really change your entire experience and is worth it. Still just so fucking expensive.

Now I'm stuck with a 65" inch, non- OLED, 7 year old flat screen TV AND with 2 non- GYSNC monitors after my ASUS came with a part broken internally and fuckers insisted that I had done the damage. And yes, even with the amazon warranty, refused to take it back. Fuck ASUS.

(And inb4 "nice blog post asshole," sShow me a better post. And the goal here was to fucking Discuss monitors, GSYNC,4k, and prices, I just three my personal shit in as examples. Don'y like it? Sage and don't respond.)

I think 4K really does make a difference when sitting so close to a computer. You can't notice the difference from 6 feet away but being a foot and a half away from the screen makes a worlds difference.

but I also like nature documentaries and they're mostly in 4 and 8K now; I know that's weird and gay to like nature and science so my opinion my be skewed

Doesn't matter, 720p is fine, running that is less expensive and makes even older cards run above 120 fps.

What really matters is if you can get a monitor with a high refreshrate, in which case getting a nice crt would be best.

So you're an AMD fag then? You have to be, what other point would there be in building a decent PC and dealing with the fucking ripping the tearing and rest of the shit without GYSNC? If you're gonna have an AMD, you may as well just have a fucking console and a good PC. The one fucking area AMD IS much better though is when you are trying to put 3 or 4 monitors together. AMD makes it a breeze while GYTNC is an entire afternoon of niggerigging (have had friends tell me they do it easily, that I'm just fucking retarded, but others agree. Think it depends on the monitor and the card).

Isn't the fuckign new 2080 ti meant to have something to do lines and tracking dots and that's the big new tech they're introducing here (even though only 3-4 games can supposedly take advantage of it)? ASUS are the biggest fucking thieves out there, but 1,800 for a monitor is steep even for them. I think this is probably meant to be one of the few monitors (maybe only one) with 4k, 144 Hz, and with something extra to help take advantage of the new fucking tech.

I wouldn't be able to justify spending that much. 4k + 144Hz is new territory which is why you're spending an outrageous amount for a single 27" monitor. Not to mention that (((GSYNC))) balloons the cost way more than AMD's FreeySync. Personally, I'm happy running with a dual 2k + 144Hz monitor setup that was roughly $600USD in total.

1800 dollars for a monitor is ridiculous. I bought the dell monitor below for ~450$

27 inch screen, TN, 1440p, 144hz gaysync out of the box. Works great.

It's all about diminishing returns, what am I losing here compared to yours? Colors are a bit less vibrant, and an extra 2k resolution which I probably wouldn't notice even if I could get a modern game to run on it. Is that really worth an extra 1400 bucks? Go fuck a supermodel instead.

Of course its worth $2000. The level of engineering that went into it is an exponential jump. Its not a TN panel. Its IPS. It doesn't have IPS glow problem. Static contrast ratio is 20k without HDR FALD and 30k with it. 30 times more contrast than the average good IPS monitor, and 30,000/700 more than TN panels, and 10 times more than blurry VA's. This isn't the board to talk about cutting edge monitors since most posters will shout at the absurdity of spending premium for premium, and the other half proclaiming X as a meme.

It doesn't have ULMB which is disappointing but understandable. Dark games will look amazing on that monitor.

Nigger, you need a very good goy PC if you want to run games at 60FPS in 4K at max settings, don't even think about 144 FPS. I have a 2K 165hz monitor with a 1070 and I don't reach 165 FPS with most games (usually still over 100FPS though). I'd even say that I went slightly too far by getting 2K. Don't even think about running games at a lower res to get a better framerate, games look like shit when not at native monitor res.

Just get a 1080p G-Sync monitor (or freesync if you have an AMD GPU) with a 144hz refresh rate.
