What is your zen garden game, /v/?

>The Japanese rock garden (枯山水 karesansui) or "dry landscape" garden, often called a zen garden, creates a miniature stylized landscape through carefully composed arrangements of rocks, water features, moss, pruned trees and bushes, and uses gravel or sand that is raked to represent ripples in water. A zen garden is usually relatively small, surrounded by a wall, and is usually meant to be seen while seated from a single viewpoint outside the garden, such as the porch of the hojo, the residence of the chief monk of the temple or monastery. Classical zen gardens were created at temples of Zen Buddhism in Kyoto during the Muromachi period. They were intended to imitate the intimate essence of nature, not its actual appearance, and to serve as an aid to meditation about the true meaning of life.

The game that relaxes you, the game that gives you the rocks and sand to build your own harmonious garden.

Lately, I've been playing Planet Coaster, and that has been a very zen-like experience to me, where I can just arrange and create to my own hearts content, without much thought. It's been a welcome change after a five-week long binge that was Factorio, for nearly 10 hours each day.

Come zen out with me, my dudes. Let's talk about your zen garden games.

Parasite Eve. I'll mute the TV, throw on a show I like on the other monitor and just mindlessly climb that fucking endless tower, or play through the game for the millionth time, or whatever. I love everything about PE so goddamn much.

Factorio with all the agro and spawn turned off. Just endlessly tweaking to create the most perfectly autistic factory. Imperishable Nights also. I have played that game so much that I just sort of zone out and play through it over and over again without realizing.

Honestly speaking I think I might be autistic. It would explain a lot.

For me it's probably gotta be RTC, terraria or minecraft

There's something deeply satisfying about starting out with a small amusement park, or castle, or house, and then building it up slowly into a massive enterprise, fortress, or city. Anything with good exploration is also quite relaxing.

Factorio is like the videogame representation of everyone's personal hell. Some people thrive in it, and others just absolutely go batshit insane, and there's nobody to blame but themselves. Even though I burnt myself out hard on that game over the past month, it's still a 10/10 experience to me.

I want to like Factorio more but I'm incapable of "refactoring" (har har). I've never made it anywhere close to end game because I end up hating my factory layout and start a new game because I'm too autistic to tear it down or incrementally fix it. It's the same reason I'm a failure of a programmer, I'm too autistic and keep rewriting the same code over and over again because it never feels good enough.

Tetris is one of the few arcade puzzle games I like, not only on how many versions there are (I started off on the DS version), but it magnifies every mistake while you play on top of speeding up time, like a cutscene-free version of XCOM. Hotline Miami and MGSV:TPP are good for just doing nothing for awhile.

The latter is good for dicking around in Africa for over an hour doing side missions while a podcast usually O&A is playing. The former is good for just running the game as much or as little as I want, but usually 15-30 minute bursts.

Terraria allows more autism and construction, potentially days on end. Pokemon is kind of there, but I wind up browsing the internet at the same time whenever I'm playing it.

Singleplayer video games in general are a relaxing experience for me, as long as the game isn't shit.

The Ogre Battle games and Front mission games are both zen games for me. They carry that sense of "your a captain of a platoon and you are trying to win this fight, but not necessarily at all costs as you also are trying to keep your troops alive to fight another day". It sort of forces you to think about things slowly and make a plan of what you want to do before you do it, so you got to take it slow so you don't fuck up. And you can fuck up badly, but if you take your time and go with the flow, you can minimize casualties as much as possible.

Also, the great music helps a lot too and there are cut girls in the game which is also a plus.

The horseshoe crab is one of the most important species on Earth. Its blood has a unique trait that allows it to harden/crystallize any pathogens that could cause it harm. Instead of fighting it, it just stops it. A single quart is worth $15k, and there are farms for this. It's not pretty.

Europe just approved their use as a replacement for normal LAL testing, but that doesn't mean that'll be accepted in other countries. Horseshoe crab mortality rate from the tests is between 5%-30%, so that's one incentive to switch, but if it's more expensive and isn't approved everywhere that makes money, I doubt it'll change.

Arachnophobia, as well as fear of snakes and such things, is a holdover for when humans were too stupid to tell the difference between dangerous species and safe species. Having an aversion to a garden snake because you aren't sure whether it might be a rattlesnake is evolutionarily sound for a retarded caveman that doesn't know better. For you, however, it is not. It just means you're too lazy to learn the realities on the matter.

I used to have arachnophobia until I watched Monster Musume and Rachnera was introduced.

Now everytime something creeps me out, I think of it as a monster girl. The fear fades away easily this way.

It's an old DOS game where, rather than just going on forever, you have to clear levels by beating various challenges. For example, in one stage, you start with some blocks on the board, but they're invisible and you have to get a Tetris. Some of them are quite creative.

I could spend my entire time playing videogames daily standing up ~16 hours and be completely fine because I'm not deliciously unfit like some of you fucks who want to game laying down in bed and think its some kind of paradise. You lie down when you want to sleep. Doing other things in bed ruins your body's sleeping habits.

The reason she's the best from a now VERY questionable series, i mean what the fuck is this cuckold shit with the snakes is because she's the most mature of all the girls. I've already stated I like her fashion 2D women with short and tidy/sharp hairstyles are god tier, but I also like her because she's not a hairy spider. Hairy spiders are creepy, but rachnera has a smooth exoskeleton, and that makes it pretty ok. i'm more of a fluffy tails kind of guy, though

Can't say I really have a zen game. Tried Grim Dawn, but the levelling is too slow, and I can't play on higher difficulties for faster leveling, even though the entire game can be played with just a mouse. The World Ends With You was pretty chill, though. I was so op in it once, I played the entire game on the hardest difficulty, and fucking cruized theough it. It was fun.

I'd think some shooter would suit me, but there hasn't been all that many (non-bethesda) (offline, duh) single player fps games. Fallout 4 works if I want to fall asleep, but other than that, there is none. I guess I just haven't found my zen game yet.
