The whole fucking channel had it's schedule replaced with Teen Titans GO and it still runs constant rerun marathons. There's clear evidence that the heads at cartoon network interfere on shows, and it's likely that they killed off most of their shows because the cartoon makers of some of them told them to fuck off.
They used to have a bunch of nu-cartoons on the network, but a lot of them are fucking gone. Lack of renewals despite the fact that the network is ACHING for content. Loads of people aren't working with them despite being one of a few networks that exclusively show cartoons.
Do you really think he wasn't coerced or something? If you can't directly interfere in his show, these people still decide what is and is not renewed. There's a political and merchandising bent on the network, and the network is clearly dysfunctional.
There are multiple ways to deal with someone if you're above them but can't attack in a certain way.
If you can't fire a man because you don't like him, fire him because he "didn't comply with company regulations", or even plain make shit up, get offended, etc. There's a very low chance that he had something to do with his show's degeneration.
