The US census says that there are 110 million single people in the US so that's roughly 55 million single male shoppers whereas females roughly account for the rest. So you're actually advertising to about 75% of shoppers by targeting women. It just makes sense to advertise to women when they are overwhelmingly the people shopping and spending money

The problem is that gaming is largely male oriented for various reasons that won't change. They assume lowering the barrier for entry will automatically mean women will jump on, but they don't. I can see the justification of trying to tap into an untapped market but that's generally only done if you're advertising an already known product and you're trying to expand said product's consumer base.

In terms of games each new one is a new product even if they are a part of a mainline series. So it's not good marketing to try to market a new product to a new demographic. I guess that's why they're trying to dumb down games. It's like trying to market action movies to women bu shoehorning a romance in. It doesn't work so well and it's smarter to just market the product to it's target audience. This is why films such as John Wick did so well, they knew their audience and gave them what they wanted. What marketers should focus on marketing towards women are games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon. They need to focus their product to the product's target demographic, it really works better in the end rather than trying to make each game appeal to the lowest common denominator.

If you recall in the mid 2000's there was a bunch of floundering half romance half action movies that didn't do very well because by trying to appeal to everyone they ended up appealing to no one. What I meant with the movie analogy is that ones that stuck to their target audience the most did the best and the ones who tried to deviate did poorly. Which is why I brought up animal crossing and harvest moon. Typically "girly" games which did excellently by not trying to be something they aren't and appealing to people who like action games for instance

None really you can get like one other certification but it doesn't really do much for you other than look good on a resume.

It's pretty much a little of every trade out there you do a little brazing you do some construction stuff when you have to put new units in to buildings since sometimes you need to make a bigger intake for the air-handler or just need more room for it altogether. It's good work when you live in Florida since the heat fucking kills old units in the summer but I could find good work up north too since heaters are such a pain in the ass maintenance wise.

Weird, yeah here plumbers certification is "Plumbing and Heating" then the residential AC stuff is a secondary thing because as I understand it the certifications to work with freon (or whatever refrigerant is used these days) is fairly easy to get. But you need different certifications to work on the big commerical and industrial HVAC stuff so that's where that specialization comes in. Like I'm sure some HVAC guys up here do residential stuff but since this is a fairly rural province.
