This is true, but the problem is that the company might be so infected with SJWs that they choose to run the company into the ground before making games for people who play video games (see: Bioware). When just thinking about the process of writing characters, I figured out what it was that troubled me. Take the statement in that slide, and replace the word "Political" with the term "agenda-driven". So, it becomes:

But it's not. And you don't do that. It's shitty enemy-killing missions with the shitty combat system that tries to emulate Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. But the devs looked like they watched videos of those games and then decided to imitate them without knowing how they actually played. Nearly everything about the combat is wrong. Noctis resets his fucking combo string anytime his targets change because fuck you that's why. Noctis changes his attack depending on the distance to the enemy because fuck you, that's why. Noctis will attack automatically if you hold the attack button because the game is made for journalists and people who don't play action games or RPGs, like fujoshi. That's fucking why.

Agreed, think Ive probably peaked early, playing as the other clans will feel like a downgrade by comparison to a Malk PC, the devs put a lot of effort into making you genuinely feel like youre playing a crazy person who's demented by visions, your character literally knows plot details before you do and you can figure out where things are headed if you can untangle their dialog. Dont even get me started on the voices in your head, that shit made me feel legitimately sorry for anyone who suffers from real auditory hallucinations.

I figure its twofold, one is that it kinda makes them look bad when they get totally outdone by a bunch of guys doing it for free, the other and more pressing reason is because they want to dumb it down to standardize modding their games somewhat. Simpler tools and methodologies means less extraneous use cases to worry about, and once modding is relatively standardized, it becomes easier to sell mods and control what kind of content your modders can create and sell in the first place, as well as making it easier to port them to the lush console marketplace. I imagine their endgame is to lock the modding utilities down to the extent that no custom animations can be added(killing sex mods) and script extenders cant be implemented effectively(killing cool but complicated mods like combat overhauls, eating/drinking/sleeping systems etc, all the really interesting stuff that you cant bring to console because it requires third party code that only runs on windows.)
Im just hoping that some other dev comes along with an equally mod friendly engine and SDK for people to use, Itd be amazing to see Bethesda back peddle on all this paid modding kikery as soon as all the good folks making the actual content for their games jump ship to greener pastures.
