It's LoL in a different camera perspective. It's the least entertaining out of any of the Hi-rez games and it's somehow the most popular. I haven't played Paladins so I have no idea about that, but I greatly recommend against Smite unless you go for it purely for the sake of having fun and you blow off everything that isn't a fun match of the day or arena and you play the game for at most 30 minutes/1 match a day.

I would agree with you that it's not worth playing, but I'm not sure I agree with your reasoning. "LoL in a different camera angel" is a bit of an oversimplification because that actually leads to a very different mechanical experience even if the core gameplay idea is the same. I would recommend against playing it because:
1) the lead balance testers don't even play the main competitive mode much at all, so basically every patch they make some absolutely fucking retarded change that pisses off both the average player and the pro players
2) character power creep out of the fucking wazoo. There there's basically no reason to play 90% of the cast that hasn't been released in the past 2 years, and 90% of the characters that HAVE been released in the past two years are consistently at the top of the tier charts even months after their release
3) a complete and utter disregard for any business practices that respect the consumer
And I say this as someone who stopped playing within the last two months after having played it fairly regularly for 4 years. Don't play Smite.

Nothing wrong with that, a lot of games do this. RTS games always use the same stages and First Person Shooters always use the same maps. I would actually say that this is a good thing because this allows you to study the stage and master it. Better than having a randomly generated stage every time you play.

There are over 110 heroes, and each of them play different depending on the matchup. Item builds and skill builds also add some variety. Certain heroes are always played the same way, but others have to be adjusted according to the enemy picks.

How can almost all games be the same when you have so many different heroes? Do you also believe that Fighting Games are largely the same? Matchup and playstyle is very important in games like this.

Maybe it's a shit answer but I've beaten Streets of Rage 2 probably about 50 times in total. As a beat-em up, stages were always the same, characters were roughly the same and the overall gameplay was overly the same. So to answer that question, because I enjoyed it

That was not what hooked me up to LoL originaly. I started playing in 2010 when it had no scene. The gameplay was decent, could play it with friends and no one was good. When teammate awareness started to become an issue, it was one of the things that made me quit

Because playing against other people is the main draw. Adding other people as your enemies opens up the door for depth and complexity. That's where the real fun is. It's not in "new content". Rather, it's better to view the "new content" is the ranks you reach and the way those players play. If you view MOBAs as thinking games it'll allow you to make sense of why a lot of players enjoy it, though they'd be unable to express it.
Things being so static is what helps you know if you're consistently improving or declining- it's a nice thing for accuracy.

Hate to say it, but that sounds like you want to blame other people for stuff going wrong. You can't trust anyone to be competent. If you play well and think better than the other team, you can win no matter the situation.

Meta doesn't matter until you start playing at a really high level, where everyone is efficient enough at the basics and you can't expect to win based purely on them so you need "guaranteed advantages". At lower levels it doesn't matter what you pick because good thinking is the only thing you need to win.
I enjoy MOBAs since they're the only mulitplayer game that can really satisfy my urge to destroy people. I like grinding entire teams into dust and knowing I was the reason my team won. Gold, kills, and tower damage are all trackable metrics. Enemy team deaths are plainly visible, too. I like seeing the havoc I cause and Dota lets me do that. Additionally they generate a lot of salt for some reason so that is icing on the cake.

The death of the genre is the unwillingness to innovate beyond this basic premise. It's a game style that should aspire to be cinematic and stylized, not competitive. Compare these games to something like Dynasty Warriors. You have ordinary faceless troops, hero units, bases, different interwoven parts of the map you can run through to fight and the thing you need to beat is at opposite ends of the map.
There is almost no reason that you can't have an asymmetrical ASSFAGGOTS other than 'it's too hard to balance'. And I don't just mean the two halves of the map are different. I mean going back to Eul's Dota, pre-allstars, where heroes were locked by team. Heroes could also have more polarizing strengths and weaknesses. Giant-sized heroes who are slow but unstoppable, who cannot go through the small nooks and crannies of the map confining them mostly to obvious paths making them unwieldy juggernauts who lead charges but must be protected. How fucking great would it be to be able to pick a ground-locked dragon that is a literal living artillery in a map about seiging down a fortress. Demigod actually kind of did this with Rook. He was one of the best aspects of the game. A living fortress who could eat towers to heal. Howabout miniature capturable bases? Plenty of Warcraft 3 maps do it, so why not?
But no, we gotta lock the game into three lanes, 3 towers, barracks, 2 jungles. Fuck everything.

I enjoyed Battlerite for a while because it has none of the laning autism, lasts much shorter than an average assfaggots game and it's played in 2v2 or 3v3 format, meaning you have a chance to win even if your teammates are not good.
