How can Far Cry get away with recycling not just gameplay, but the actual guns of the game? Even other shit AAA series like CoD or Battlefield shake up the arsenal with every new iteration, and that's once a year. They worked on this game for four years and of the already paltry selection of merely 20 weapons, 11 of them are recycled that were featured in 3 and 4.
How can they get away with this? Even a shit company like Bethesda can make an open world, with a story, rpg """elements""", etc, while also making a whole arsenal of 60+ weapons. New Vegas was made in 18 months and had like fucking 200 new weapons for a grand total of 300+. How can the Far Cry series get away with add only fucking nine new weapons and expect people to buy their shit? Their worlds are copy pasted compared to bethesturd's, their "story" is laughably simple, and they don't have a dialogue system or other RPg things to consider, and fucking nine new weapons after YEARS of development is all they can manage? How is this banality even possible?
Is there a game series that is more of a lazy copy/paste job than Far Cry 3-5?

Recycling guns is one of the only things I'm okay with them recycling. Far Cry games are all set roughly in the same time period (last 20 or so years) and guns haven't changed all that fucking much. Obviously at the cutting edge they have, but in scummy shitholes like in 2/4, or among random criminals like 3/5 you're not going to get cutting edge.

Far Cry and Asscreed, as franchises, are more about applying the same gameplay template to new settings and time periods then it is about making the gameplay more interesting.
Personally, i'm fine with that. It allows them to explore settings that would otherwise never show up outside of indieshit, and while niether of their gameplay is great, both are serviceable.
