Yes, it is a very good hands off game that plays itself.
You could adjust your tactics board to maximize the effect of the monster you think you will encounter.
You could adjust your weapon loadout, party composition and magics to increase damage and resistances against the next monster.
You could switch out your higgeldy minions to get the effects and synergies needed.
Or:
Just always equip your best weapon and armor.
Spam light attack until you can flurry.
Dodge a few telegraphed attacks.
And defeat every enemy in the game including lvl 70 elites after you hit lvl 50 and city item level 5 (3-4 star equipment) (and army level 20 to 25).
Or:
Equip your best weapons and armor to your two henchmen, get a dark attack, light attack and knight summon higgeldy trio.
Just run form Higgeldy to Higgeldy Prompt and let your companiens do the job, because they almost always do perfect dodges and the fights will only last a few seconds longer than if you would actively contribute damage.
Or:
Just enter combat and wait.

Sure, the start of it it seems to follow the simple formula of every other rpg without much thought to it. But then allied actions comes in and it adds a completely new flavor and sense of tact to combat that changes the entire premise of the game. Want to learn more allied actions? Guess what kiddo, your party has to be getting along through a fucking trust meter, and that just increases by doing shit that melds and agrees with eachother's alignment.

>enemy group shows up
>has a spell caster
>allied actions go
>one allied action that has cast interruption
>choose two in the back row that will be doing the interrupting

I'm still playing, but I find the game a bit too kiddie, like >>14594651 said. You can ignore the thing about creating a world without wars and borders, where everyone is happy (I mean, it's a game majorly made for kids, so you can kind expect some wishful thinking like that), but what is hard to ignore is the difficulty.
I'm lvl 30, there's a lot of ground to cover yet, but hell, is it easy. I only used healing items against some Dark monsters fights Those are especial optional bosses that drop special loot, they are usually harder to kill, and only once one of the characters from my party died and I had to revive him. Is truly a cake walk.
That said, the combat is pretty cool, the range of abilities with each of the characters is pretty nice, you have really free movement, you can switch weapons and characters during a fight, making possible to keep a lot of action going on. You usually fight large group of enemies, so it's really fun to see "splashy splashy" with your sword.
There's also the Kingdom management system, that until now is pretty slow (you need people in your kingdom to advance, and for now I'm not finding many), but it seems to catch up and get better. My kingdom is still lvl1, but I can already make some weapons, breed magic, and so on.
A solid 7/10, can be fun, just a bit too easy. Really made for kids. The graphics are nice too.

I never use him, but I'm always keeping him in top equiptment because I'm paranoid the game is going to do that bullshit where they split the party the up into two team and I've been fucked enough on those deals with underleveled/underequipped characters.
Really, all the extra party members are pretty boring and for the longest time I just stuck with Roland/Tani/Evan who seemed to have all of the creative potential of the design team poured into them. I didn't even bother using Bracken until she got that cute Iron Man outfit.
Really wish they would have let you recruit citizens into your main party, rather than just a few of them into your army. Would have loved to go adventuring with Moggy May and Sucy Grisella Spooky Mouse Pussy - or with total bros like Ya Pi and Glaucus.

As a game, no it's not good. It's comfy as fuck, well paced without all the bloat that usually accompanies JRPGs, and fun. But it's broken as fuck and provides zero challenge. Had to look up what that was and it's basically just magnesium bound to a protein. Instead of shelling out to the pharma jew for pills, just eat brazil nuts, cashews, or almonds. They're really high in magnesium - especially brazil nuts. 100g of brazil nuts is about 400mg of Mg which is a shittonne of nuts but it doesn't leave your body very quickly and seriously who just eats one fucking kind of food to get ALL of their nutrients when they're on a health binge.
