The Switch is set to overtake the Xbone this year, I think.

Not console warring, but I wouldn't be surprised if either this or their next console was their last. Microsoft only had one truly successful console and that was the 360, even then it was only a hit because of how hard Sony dropped the ball at the launch of the PS3. When you boil it down, the Xbone is just a worse version of the PS4 with less games, if such a thing is even possible.

A friend of mine is a manager at a gamestop. He says niggers are the only ones that buy Xbones, and they usually come back at the end of the month to trade it back for cash when they realize a bag of weed is more fun.

It's amazing just how engineered these systems are for psychological manipulation. People bitch about lootboxes, and rightfully so, but a lot of the same psychological trickery that underpins microtransaction marketing are baked into the features of UIs of mainline consoles as a means to keep it's users brand loyal and buying more products.

Achievements, all the social media integration, activity feeds - even the act of paying to play online is a sort of retention scheme by fooling the customer into thinking they're actually getting something worthwhile for their money when they really aren't.

Or rather, they are - they're getting a subscription to a shitty game of the month club which is basically just a means of guaranteeing monthly sales to boost attach rates. Yet they flip it around a bit, selectively promote certain services with dedicated servers (while staying quiet about how the vast majority of their services are peer to peer) - leading the assumption that you're paying for a premier gaming network AND getting free games! How can Microsoft and Sony manage to pack so much value into a $10 subscription and still make a profit?! Financial wizardry!

Along with the friends lists, Achievements serve to build up a false sense of investment into a platform - making it harder for customers to walk away from that ever-growing gamerscore (which MS has also deftly turned into a monthly competition on your friends lists - buy more games and beat their goy-score!). Meanwhile the social media hooks, clip sharing/achievement unlocks/etc, are just there to increase the viral potential of games by putting it in front of the eyes of everyone on your friendlist and club roster each time you interact with it.

It's really quite disgusting and impressive when you stand back and look at it.

I don't get why they didn't at least aim to have a decent graphical edge from the beginning. That always seemed to be the selling point of the OG Xbox, in bringing over the crossover PC gaming crowd. With the 360 they kind of lucked out in that 3rd party titles often looked noticeably better, not necessarily through any effort of their own.

This gen though from the beginning the word was that the PS4 had a decent edge. They could have just had that one selling point, even if just for word of mouth that gets talked about by normies at the water bubbler at work. Ideally something closer to the One X, but at launch not years and years later. Of course software is then another matter entirely.

With normalfags, the Xbone X is doing reasonably well despite being last place, PS4 is strong as ever being split between old PS4 and PS4 pro (the pro version is less popular), the Switch is blowing up in a big way, and PC still has generally the same portion of the market it always has, though support for PC tends to grow slowly.

In high school a friend of mine had a side business making 360s loaded with pirated games and selling them, so we'd go over to his house on weekends, order pizza, and play 4-player splitscreen CoD for hours on end while crammed into an attic too short to stand up in, two of us sitting on a couch a hand's breadth from falling down the stairs and the other two sitting on the floor. I don't know how many hours I spent being a riot shield low tier hero against that one shitass who'd use nothing but akimbo P90s and Stopping Power the whole time, which was tough because we were on 200% health and I needed 4 hits to kill him. I remember becoming very familiar with the way my character held the shield as he ran and positioning myself so the bullets would mostly graze me, then running in and fucking him while he reloaded for two minutes. Shotguns only on the map Rust was another great time, because after MW2 every "small, close-quarters map" was progressively larger until you got to something like Blops 2's cruise ship map, which was the size of many medium-large maps in MW2 and 3.

So PC Gaming is back, because it can now compete in longevity with consoles. Hell, the consoles now were beaten in terms of RAM by 400$ Labtops in the very same year.

Today, right now, a 350$ Labtop can give you everything the PS4 and Xbone have to offer and more. A 500$ PC with only half assed gaming capabilities will blow them out of the water. You can literally spend the same money on a fucking labtop and get a superior gaming experience.

It it weren't for artificial limitations, the larger tablets would already be competitive in terms of power.

And the shittiest part is that Netlfix and such are purely software addons, they dont take up much space. The entire system could have been dedicated to pure gaming, with a half dozen apps as extra. There was no reason for the Xbone to be such a shitshow, or for either console to be so underpowered.

That was the problem. Microshit approached the console as a multimedia device first, instead of a gaming device. The thing is, it was always a game device first. so if they wanted a multimedia one, they should have presented it under a different name. Then, they would still lose the X Box 360 fanbase's interest. They simply chose the wrong path, and bet on a failed option.

They wanted to move away from games but at the same time they wanted to keep the Gamers that were the customers for the X Box brand. No one can have both. You either present a new gaming device, or Gamers will move away from it.

I still suspect that Don Matrick was a saboteur, by the way that he presented the X Bone, but Microshit surely had their part in those shitty decisions as well.
