Ashkenazi are Jews that appeared in Germany sometime around the fall of the Western Roman empire, which was several centuries before the Khazars. No one is really sure where they came from, as historical records from that period are scarce. That being said, there probably is some Khazar DNA in the Ashknazi Jews of Eastern Europe, but only a small amount. A lot of people just dismiss the Khazar theory completely, but it's not like they just disappeared after the Russians destroyed their nation. They were probably absorbed into some of the other various ethnic groups in that area, including other Jews.
This isn't even getting into the lost ten tribes that were scattered when the Assyrians conquered Israel(not Judea, Israel) around 700 B.C. No one is really sure what happened to them. I've even heard one theory that one of the lost tribes sailed all the way up to England via Phoenician ships and the people we call the English are actually descended from that tribe. It sounds absurd, but it could explain why the Eternal Anglo behaves the way he does.
