Not really. Wayforward's The Mummy Demastered is more of a Metroid-like and it had corpse running where you actually had to kill your corpse to get your gear back.
I'd say there is no single defining feature for a Souls-like, in the same way that Zelda has many elements but there are very few games that actually fit in to that subset of action/adventure.
