I liked the phantom menace, it reminded me a lot of what i liked about ANH and the original trilogy in general, it was a fun family adventure film. In many ways i think Phantom Menace drove away the part of the audience that appreciated the darker elements of eps 5/6, because it was a much more positive and in some ways cartoony, its heroes acting like comic book characters rather than taking the world where lasers move so slow its easier to swing them than to shoot them seriously. Clone Wars was not very good though and i think Revenge of the Sith is genuinely as bad as 7, though i haven't seen 8 yet.

Still, there's an important distinction to make between Lucas' prequels and the foul muck that is spewing from Jar Jar Abrams' anus, and that's that George's films were bad but salvageable.
George Lucas has always been an "idea guy", and the fundamental, big ideas were solid: the most important thing he needs is a team of people around him to tell him "NO, that's STUPID" anytime he wants to do anything stupid. See Carrie Fisher deciding Princess Leia should be more obnoxious, and especially Irving Kirshner insisting on "I know" in Empire. Lucas was shot down repeatedly during the production of the Original Trilogy when he asked for stupid things, and the movies are better for it.
The reason the prequels came out so bad was because George was now famous and respected and everyone viewed him as the genius who made Star Wars and let him do whatever he wanted. Letting George do whatever he wants is obviously a horrible mistake. However, that ALSO means that there's actually a decent movie buried inside every one of the prequels; nerds with too much time on their hands have made "fan edits" that fix the movies' rough edges and turn them into surprisingly good films. (Examples include cutting down on the amount of Jar Jar, removing the whole "midichlorians" nonsense, cutting segments out of the overlong Pod Race sequence and using Anakin's cut dialogue from it over the final X-Wing sequence so it seems like he's doing it on purpose instead of by accidental magic, and so on.)
It's simply not possible to do this with Nu-Starwars. The Lucas prequels are okay films ruined by incompetent directing, that can be fixed by a skilled editor; the Disney films are a complete turd sandwich from top to bottom, and the only thing that can fix them is fire.
(Except Rogue One, which was actually fairly decent apart from Darth Dad Joke.)

The retard rage quit halfway through the match and insulted us for "taking the game too seriously."

Everything in the originals is blocky and even dirty making it seem more real and grounded. You know what’s funny? When I had the unfortunate privilege of playing MickeyFront II, it was the smallest thing that annoyed me to the point that I didn’t want to play it anymore. On top of the fact it’s an EA game, on top of all the microtransactions, the 4 hour campaign, it was the fact that pressing down on the D pad automatically switched your view to 3rd person, and you couldn’t switch it back to first person the same way that annoyed me. You had to go into the menu’s game options to switch it back because god forbid you pressed down expecting to equip whatever bullshit tool was taking up the bottom slot in the HUD menu that looked like everything should be accessible via the D pad.
