I think it will be a slow burn. They will get rid of the worst ones first, and then very slowly get more and more toward the people who aren't as bad in their eyes. Then again, they could be banking on some right-wing people to be radicalized as they are pushed to more fringe groups who want to use violence (but typically, they use false-flag operations or frame retaliation and lone wolf rage as an attack approved by every white conservative christian).

To be fair, the prequels aren't at all comparable to the new ones. The latest ones are pretty much disney-pre-approved, so the humor for example is extremely marvel-tier. Which doesn't fit star wars or many of its characters.
They're not inconsistent, anon. They are different people watching different movies. Even if it's the same series, they don't have the same directors, writers, producers, actors, contexts. They're very different.
They also took huge dumps on rogue one for example, and their plinkett review of the first disney-one is a lot harsher than their half in the bag one, arguably because "now that the dust has settled"

They admit that the creative process was exactly the kind of thing they want out of movies, but also admit that it wasn't very good. Their major complaints were that the comedy failed miserably, and nothing happens in the movie at all. By the end of it, everything is exactly the same as the beginning. I think they decided an accurate quote was, "The movie wasn't a mess, but it was certainly messy."

I'll agree that they're generally more positive because they just like movies, but their review, while not calling the movie "fucking awful" was still really scathing if you think about what they said. Upon discussing possible plotlines, it was agreed that their cool idea was "too smart for Star Wars," and they all agreed that starwars never should have bothered having more movies, because it's universe is actually a pretty boring blank slate. Maybe some other kind of Sith rise up that aren't copies of Darth Vader? Maybe even add other weaker kind of force users as villains like a space alien cowboy that has some simple awareness of the force to evade shoots and have wonderful aim.
But of course they just tried to redo the original trilogy and add a 'twist' to fix everything problematic and toxic. It doesn't just make the movie shit, it makes a mess because modern Hollywood have NO idea how to write some decent script.

The universe is theoretically capable of having any kind of fucking story in the world. But the people in charge of the new trilogy are way the fuck too concerned what the perception of Star Wars is. The reason they have that opinion about Star Wars was because that was a big part of the complaints that they had about the prequels. It wasn't "good ideas, bad execution" that they said; they hated pretty much everything about them. A lot of that stuff was poorly done, or should not have been in the movies and should have just been done elsewhere, but it had more than just rebels vs empire and the adventure story.
Probably part of the reason I am a bit bitter about it is because I've seen better writers pick up shit from SW and do something good with it, and I only played the games, not read any of the EU books. Battleftont 2's campaign went over the movies and some and came off like a bleak war story instead of the adventure, and Republic Commando, for its faults as a game, is a pretty damn good romp in a clone's shoes as well. The Old EU had the break down of the empire and various power struggles from different factions of the broken empire, essentially the grand politics that would make a damn nice game/story.
