I get this to a degree. When I was a photographer, the reason I was successful was because I had a style and results that people really liked. Sometimes however when I would do a paid job, I'd have the client asking me to do X, Y, and Z completely differently (and imo it looked like shit). I didn't want my name attached to it in the end.
I felt that if you hired me you were doing so because you knew what I could do. Just give me an end goal and I'll get to it in my own tried and true way. It drove me crazy when non photogs would start micromanaging everything.
That being said, in the end any artform is something that is consumed and appreciated by regular every day people. If there's something that your audience thinks you could improve on or want to give you shit for, you should want to hear it. There's a difference between casual feedback, and trying to micromanage and dictate what an artist can or can't do.

I think the biggest difference between a photographer, and the Goodnight Moon channel is that one's a job and one's a hobby. She's set herself up so that she's not beholden to the people that consume her content. There's a fair bit of evidence that Erin's wealthy, and a lot of the income from YT/patreon seems to go back into the channel. If you compare her patreon to others, you see that the highest tier is 5 bucks only. I don't know exactly what your fiver gets you, I've never given anyone patreon bucks.
Compare pic related. Maple is charging one thousand dollars for a picture of her eyes, and an hour-long custom video. If you pay for that, it's reasonable that you get to micromanage the fuck out of those 60 minutes. Even if you are a richfag and completely in love with Maple, it's quite ridiculous. I'm a fan of Ppomo, but if I want to see a pair of eyes I'll find someone else to watch. ASMR has become so popular, you can probably find somebody who can scratch your itch. Don't have to ask Caroline for roleplays, or GNM for no-talking sound videos.
The unfortunate thing is that the asmr community is at large women and redditors. They'll spam pure praise on any video, even if it's complete shit.
Your completely reasonable technical criticism will almost always be buried underneath heaps of worshipers, so you're outvoted by default. It's part of the reason /asmr/ gets excited when they suspect that a asmr youtuber is visiting their board. If you've been around enough to remember Tyla, her threads were always like 60% video requests.
Absolutely everyone who creates anything can improve, and constructive criticism is certainly one of the best ways to get better. Boards like /loomis/ exist for that reason. Just don't be the guy walking through the art gallery saying "needs more red", "I hate acrylic", "my feet hurt".

This is waaay too similar in art style with GNM that I can't help but compare the two which is a negative thing for me because a series should be able stand on it's own.
Everything is spot-on similar, the nature intro, the props and set, the cinematography and even the hair.
