I admit I'm not that knowledgeable about the EU, or the state of what is or isn't canon under the different definitions. But I thought the light side routes of the KotOR series had been declared valid for the Nu-canon, since TORtanic was still running when they made the switch? If that had been the case then Malachor shouldn't even exist at that point.

In fact, as far as I know it doesn't even make sense to mention Malachor without following KotOR canon, since that series was where it came from in the first place. As far as I can see, Nu-canon just copied the general idea of the planet and ignored the fact that they hadn't come up with it.
