>the 56% meme is even true in Star Trek

How does this make you feel?

Seriously though, what the fuck is up with this episode? Why were Worf and I the only ones concerned about this weird ass baby that showed up in Troi overnight? People really just let this kid run around alone with Troi all the time, mostly unsupervised? That seems dangerously irresponsible.

It's a Season 2 episode anon, of course it's going to be fucking stupid. This was also the season where the Chief Engineer got outwitted by a race of legit retards, and where Picard forced a bunch of leprechauns and clones to fuck at gunpoint. This was just the first "shot across the bow" so to speak.

This was extra stupid considering the episode Conspiracy was what, a few weeks ago in-universe? Did everyone just forget about the space parasites coming for them? I know the writers did.

TNG has a lot of stupid episodes, now that I think of it. Remember when Picard became an energy being? Or that time some random bitch killed herself to prove warp travel was harmful to space?

trips confirm TNG writers were often stupid.

Do I even need to bring up how retarded the death penalty planet is? I'm not saying the death penalty is always wrong, but it sure is when that's the only law you have. A lot of TNG feels like the writers are trying too hard to send their message home and it comes off as kind of arrogant and childish.

TNG's my favourite, but you're not wrong.

Oh, yeah, that episode. OTOH in that instance I can't complain because it's Wesley. Anyway, another stupid bit. Season 2 again, a twofer really:

>"Yes I know the Borg are coming to Federation space and are pretty invincible, but we really don't want to do these military tests because this is a ship of peace despite the phaser banks and torpedo tubes"

This is pretty self-explanatory, they basically went up against some fucker so powerful only Q fixed it and they are bitching about preparing for it. They even complain about the guy who they send over to train him despite is primary issue just being slightly autistic. Actually they seem as concerned about the Borg as they are about beating said trainer in fucking video games.

>Why were Worf and I the only ones concerned

You're going to be asking yourself that question an awful lot. People joke about Worf being ineffectual, but he's frequently the most right-minded character around. Something like half the problems faced by the Enterprise-D could have been avoided or more swiftly resolved if the rest of the bridge crew actually took the common-sense precautions that Worf was constantly recommending.
