The first time I went to Dragon Con happened to be the first time that Shatner and Nimoy both attended. Unfortunately, due to con inexperience and getting a hotel on the edge of Atlanta, I didn't get to see them that year (though I've seen Shatner since, he seems chill).
Anyway, I dunno about other cons, but at Dragon Con they play different videos while you're waiting for a panel to start, skits or [adult swim]-style bumps or what have you. That year, they threw Shatner of the Mount into the mix. Which promptly got it stuck in everyone's heads for the entire weekend.
I love that song, not just because it's good, but also because I have a nostalgic association with it.
Why do I climb the mountain? Because I'm in love.
