The irony being that even though Belleza has a stupidly high amount of polygons, it's less laggy than HG. I did a test by wearing each, zooming in near the body, making sure my draw distance was low-ish so there was a little interference (because what's around you is part of rendering no matter what), right clicking, and holding for a few minutes to see what happened.

I still averaged 5 - 10 FPS more wearing Freya than the Hourglass. I don't know why. 1080ti here too, if it matters.

If you enable "Show Avatar Complexity Informations" in the new Firestorm Beta, it will show you the amount of visible triangles and the estimated amount of total triangles of an Avatar.

If you need help with doing this, there are some people who wrote their own blender AddOns for optimizing meshes for SL and who made whole script-sets for mesh bodies for making HUDs that support auto-alpha, alpha-saving, skin selection and all those other fancy things that the mesh body HUDs in SL support.

So you don't necessarily have to wait for bake-on-mesh.

If by blender addon you're talking about Avastar then I already have those and they do help with the initial rigging and all the bento jazz, only requiring minimal manual weight painting.

As for Mesh body huds these things are dead easy to make. There is nothing revolutionnary about them. The reason why I'm so dead inclined for Bake On mesh is because I do not want to whore myself out to omega system for their applier because it would require for my body to be non transfer, no mod and for short non open saurces. Also, of course without omega and BoM you could simply edit the body and drop the textures on the body but normies do not want to learn something that would require 30 minutes or less of their lives.

Yes, it doesn't protect anybody really, but it's how they do it. If they have it (no modify), nobody can spoof the UUID with an easy attachment and they need a copybot or cache viewer.

You will need a quad version of the original second life system body.

-Separate your body in something like: feet, legs, torso, hands, imitating the system body style.

-Scale the system body to about the same size as your body.

-Now you're ready to SLUV map your body one piece at a time. Grab your body's legs then grab the system body's legs. Scale down the system legs so that it fits inside your own body's legs. Make sure nothing from the system's body poke through your leg or the next step will be fucked up.

-Use a subsurf modifier on the system body leg and put the level at something like 3 or 4 depending on the complexity of your own model. Untoggle modify uv in the modifier sub menu.

-Use a shrinkwrap modifier on the system's legs with your model's legs as a target, use the projection method. That's why you did the previous steps with the subsurf and the insertion overlap.

If you did a good job with scaling and did not modifiy the topoly of the system's legs both legs should now overlap with the system's leg slightly coming out at each end.

-Here is where the real shenanigans happen. Select your body's legs then shift select the system's body legs. CTRL+Shift+T and then select under: face corner data -> UVs.

-SLUVs should now be transfered over to your body's legs, repeat for every other part.
