To be perfectly honest, I think a lot of people have overblown it. I can definitely see how it could be interpreted as a Trump allegory, but it's not like some other stuff where the comparison is blatant and heavyhanded. The circumstances are quite different, and Trump and Ironwood are very different people. In addition, plenty of other nations throughout history have closed their borders due to a crisis (https://www.reddit.com/r/history/comments/3sr6rc/when_if_ever_has_a_country_ever_completely_closed/). I don't see how it's necessarily any different than those examples. Also, weren't most of the plot points laid out in the RWBY bible left behind by Monty? Which was almost certainly written long before Trump became a figurehead in American politics?

And even if he is meant to be a Trump analogue, he's not necessarily going to be the bad guy. A lot of the things he did, like giving Yang an arm or suggesting that Weiss is 'the only one making any sense around here' make me think that he'll be an ally of RWBY, not an antagonist. Now, if Ironwood starts ranting about building a wall, making Atlas great again, or grabbing Weiss by the pussy in Volume 5, then I'll admit you guys are right. But crying wolf about it now, before we've even seen Volume 5, makes us no different than the liberal SJWs.

In a way, I understand, but there's also the fact that they did some nasty shit and went out of their way with the Virtue signaling. Not only that, and saying that volume 4 "had a lesson that couldn't come fast enough" after the election of Trump is somewhat damning evidence that they were going political in the storyline. The fact they made Irondong "Close the border" could be pure coincidence, but in your heart of hearts, knowing this company bends towards liberalism, seeing all the Trump Derangement Syndrome, and it's only been his first quarter of his first year, do you really think they're going to try to do this?

I'm not very aware of the company outside of RWBY. The only other thing of theirs I watch is Red vs Blue, I'm not really invested into their podcasts or let's plays. I wouldn't know about any virtue signaling outside of their shows. As for within their shows, I haven't really noticed any blatant leftist sentiment within RWBY as of yet. It's hard to tell in RvB. It's a comedy, they make fun of everybody. . Whether he's a Trump analogue or not, it seems that making Ironwood an antagonist would run counter to what they had been setting up in prior episodes. Ultimately, you're probably going to turn out to be right, but I'd rather stay positive about it, rather than call out every little thing. As I said before, that's a very SJW-y way to look at things.
