Nice dubz!
I tend to watch all sorts of non-mainstream shits, so lets get a roll on!
If something's listed twice that means it's got different stories in each category. Also to save time: Armored Trooper Votoms is basically "Gundam, but serious" and similarly has installments in all 3 categories. Amazing shit, though the tv series is *really* slow at times. (probably shoulda just done it as a 13 ep OAV)
Series:
Area 88 (animu about a civil war in the ME, crazy topic huh? Inspired the shit out of the Air Force Delta and Ace Combat series)
Witchblade (shitty ending but the prior 22 eps is worth it)
Licensed by Royalty (slight slicey here and there, Bebop-esque spy series)
Black Lagoon (badass merc chicks in Hong Kong)
Jormangund (goofier version of Black Lagoon)
Claymore (Paladin chicks doing paladin things)
Parasyte (dude with talking alien symbiote arm battles other symbiotes invading the planet)
Red Garden (Blood+ if it were done by Kubrick)
The Guyver (the original 'kid gets superpowered suit' anime, bloody as hell too)
OAV:
Area 88 (way more brutal and despairing than the tv series despite being shorter)
Mermaid's Scar (horror story by the Ranma½ writer about eating mermaids granting immortality)
Alien Nine (first ep looks like moeshit, then it turns into a Parasyte knockoff)
Pet Shop of Horrors (4 random stories from a long-running horror manga)
Angel Cop (first half is a cop show, second half is pure insanity with psychic power battles, and also a rant by a politician halfway through about foreigners screwing up Japan that's infamous around /pol/)
Mad Bull (Japan's idea of what an 80's buddycop movie is like. Main char looks like Mike Haggar too)
Gunsmith Cats (Japan's idea of what an 80's buddycop movie is like, with a lez/k/ twist)
aaand anything in those two groups by Go Nagai. That oughta take you through New Year's, haha!
