>we are living in the matrix
I would think it one level higher
not only our life on earth is some kind of simulation. It is well possible that the entire universe that we can explore with telescopes is all just one single big Hologram
If you remember in Matrix, a deja vu was the tell that something in the background of the matrix is beeing glitched really hard and the programs are trying to patch up shit.
I think we have an analogy to this in our universe too. It is the speed of light. One might ask why nothing can travel faster than light. Maybe the computer that runs this universe in a simulation simply lacks the computing power to have light travel any faster than c.
For example time will bend and stand still when travelling at light speed. Same for Dark Holes. A particle moving towards the event horizon will feel time slowed down compared to outside observers. This might be the matrix in the background doing the background patchworks to keep the entire system from bricking.
To your other point about UFO's
If we assume someone has the computing power to simulate an entire universe for 14 billion years with every single little detail with quadrillions of billions of atoms, stars, particles, dust and what not. Then obviously they should have technology that we refer to as UFO's
>powered by zero sum ...
Imagine if you did not accelerate your spaceship at all. Instead you have some supermassive energy source (maybe dark energy) that allows you to physically warp the fabric of space time.
Then you could just glide on the fabric with no propulsion needed and you could easily achieve insane speeds.
If you think about it. The universe inflates. It still does even after 13 billion years. We still don't know why this is happening or where it gets its energy to do so. Imagine the mass of sun, planets, supermassive black holes. They are being moved through space time with insane speeds. Where does the energy for it come? We don't know. But we just call it dark energy.
Also the fabric of space time is the only thing that is not bound to the v = c speed limit. Space time the farer it is from our planet moves with ever greater speed. In some parts of the universe it is moving faster than the speed of light.
The only thing we know for sure about this universe is that we know nothing ...
