Thank you.
The Archiver was there, it's a good thing I saved the access info.

>All content inaccessible due to "join or 404" bullshit
>littered more and more with spambots
Probably was deleted. Sad. A board that was there pretty much the beginning of the exodus from 4chan, became such a shell due to how retarded 8kun administration are which killed it off. Story of the whole website.
You can seemingly still claim the board though.

It's almost three years since the fall of 8chan.
I still have some memorabilia of the final moments.
I'm pretty sure most went back to 4chan.
All those small communities and hobbyist boards wiped out forever ;_;
I remember 2 years ago, how 9chan.tw was almost a promising 8ch successor, but it fizzled out.
But 8chan was too dangerous, too much fun, too "based" as one would say now.
An imageboard of that scale would need another diaspora from 4chan. Back then we had gamergate, but now?
Also, current anons on 4chan are mostly casual, i.e., teenagers browsing their phones. It's not like the 2013 demographic.

More like seven, it just reached such great heights beforehand that it took until three years ago to finally hit the ground.

The only thing that was active on /wx/ at this point was the archiver and his webdav server. Just when I was about to upload something, the board gets taken down.
If anyone knows other places where the archiver posts, let me know

>An imageboard of that scale would need another diaspora from 4chan. Back then we had gamergate, but now?
Pretty much, something like the 4chan exodus and gamergate is never going to happen again. The circumstances that would need to occur nowadays would need to be massively catastrophic. We had our chance and squandered it.

>We had our chance and squandered it.
I think gamergate achieved and continues to achieve a fair amount of good especially in consumer rights and resistance to false narrative. When the 6th rate hacks journos of gamergate used the same techniques of the first echelon at NYT and others enough people saw enough of the technique to identify it when used in larger contexts.
in some ways gamergate pulled back the curtain and showed some of the tricks and behaviors of a hidden, nepotistic, and incompetent ruling elite.
But, have those successes come despite our mistakes and missteps. Did gamergate achieve so much from the incompetence of the perpetrators? were we playing on easy and could have done more?

To have done more back then, would be to finish the infinitynext engine. I think it's serious development for 8ch was a high point. It was a sign of innovation, performance + scalability promises, QoL improvements to come, progress, -- a future for 8ch. When that fell through, 8ch's future fell into stagnation and pessimism.

9chan.tw was promising the first 2 months. I remember emailing tybb and saying this could be a new 8chan.
I was living through it, and I still can't comprehend what went wrong. Josh blamed the pedos and the mentally ill, because the feds requested info from him due to a threat on 9/pol/. I was spamming >cuckime to every anime picture on the site. I remember people slowly just went back to kiwifarms, discord and 4chan, the place became desolate. Eventually, it was dead when Josh handed the site over to the endchan admins.

the sad truth is pedos are one of the diehard groups than still attend chans. naturally they want to post about their interests but, being pedos, their interests can destroy any site they touch.
The first question of a free speech site is: How to deal with the pedos?
Pedo posters mean mods and jannies, mods and jannies mean egos, incompetence, and selective enforcement.
a free speech website is like some short lived fungal fruiting body.
maybe after 2022 we could reawaken this site in the run up to 2024? It will be a hell of an election cycle.
