Does friendship exist after childhood? This movie really made me think about the subject recently. Thoughts?

thoughts : LOL @ the closest thing you've ever had to 'making friends' was watching a garbage movie from 1986

Not really. When you are younger you are worry free and care about having fun. When people get older it’s about getting money. Most of my good friends have screwed me over for money. And one of my best friends walked away from me when I did nothing wrong. You just have to worry about your self.

In my experience it seems like a fifty fifty thing. People change, move, or just lose contact. I have seen friendship far into adulthood, but I think that it is becoming a rarer thing

When I was younger I wondered how people grew old, bitter and lame. Just getting married and having a family. Now I know why. The friends do not really mean anything. When ever I have done business with “friends” they do what they can to fuck me. Where had I just cut them out I would have been much better off. People move on because they think they’re too good for you. Sure people just lose contact. But think about the friends that didn’t leave. Why do you no longer talk to them? My friends think they’re better than me. I have 20k in the bank. Have 100k in inheritance coming in. Putting me ahead of 90%. Doubt they have shit. And guess what? I only got this money by not listening to “my friends”. Most of my friends said my case was a lost cause. Then when I win they say what ever I try to do next is a lost cause. Shit right now. I’m working on some glownigger shit and I pretty much tell people what I do and they don’t believe me. I bet so could show them step by step and they wouldn’t believe me. And this is my current friends. The world is about money. Nothing more. Friends are here for entertainment. Nothing more.

You bring up some good points here. I’m in a similar situation. Grew up in a poor area where everyone either sold drugs, did drugs, or got arrested. I decided not to be any of those things, joined the military, got out when I saw through the (((bullshit))), went and got a degree in a different field. Made good money and now I have my own business.

All my ‘old’ friends are still in the same ghetto. I had to leave them behind. And I think that speaks to an unspoken rule of men and relationships, and that is they are based on performance. When I saw that they were just doing the same old things I just couldn’t hang anymore. ‘Communication is only possible between equals’

Out of all the people I’ve met in this world id say three would be real “friends”

Most people want to bring you down to their shit level. I have a female friend that looks like pure shit and she thinks she can still pull like she use to. The narcissist behavior is unreal. I’ve had friend drop me for no apparent reason. And my last friend I’m pretty sure tried to set me up and I knew him since I was 8. It’s a shame but I wish I had done things differently. So what do you do now?

I’ve learned that when it comes to females they can have amazing insight into others through emotions, but that very insight means that they have total lack of insight into themselves. Knew a girl who was overweight, 7k in debt, car repoed, two evictions, and was going for her masters in a field she hated to put off paying her student loan debt, and still wouldn’t listen to any advice. That’s just females.

As far as men go, friendship still happens and is possible, but I also think it is changing. I’m old enough to remember a time when it was common to not have a computer, and I used to have kids from around my neighborhood play football because I had the biggest yard. Now everybody has a computer, and even normal activities (eating out, sitting in the park) include a quick selfie and text. A literal digital conscienceness is effecting all aspects of interaction. More and more of our awaking conscience is getting sucked into this, effecting every other aspect of interactions dynamically. Whether that’s good or bad, I don’t know, but it’s interesting. What a time to be alive.
