I mean some parts of the US are more family oriented, it just depends on which states, towns, and cities you travel to. I still come to visit my family every once in a while in fact I helped my mother plant flowers on mothers day.
I think part of it is kids and parents being radically politically different and taking their disagreements to the extreme which is a shame, I mean I don't agree with everything my parents believe in but I'm not driven to hate them over it. I'm sure like all things there will be a synthesis/antithesis to sort those things out be it peaceful or violent like all generational political struggles much like how every year has it's seasons.
