Obviously this site is big enough that it needs alot of servers. But we should host our private blogs on home servers. We shouldn't give up on this site though. One day it could become a vibrant community again. We just need to lie in wait until the time comes when this site can become popular again, then, when the time is right, we will promote the site as much as we can.
