I deal with depression every single day. I've been doing it for decades. Every day brings some sort of existential pain that erodes my spirit and makes me wish I could end it all. The only thing that stops me is my family and my fear of Hell.
People who have never been touched by depression will never understand what it's like to get up and think "Another day of misery" before trudging into the kitchen to feed yourself tasteless food while reading/watching something that will inevitably remind you of some past event where you fucked up or lost.
