Like you, I can't stand 4chan. I think it no longer supports free speech and it's turned into another soulless money vacuum. This happens to forms of media like animes as well. They try to compromise between artistic ambition and making money, and over time, the money-making side ends up taking over.
This even applies to life. Moreso American life because people are taught to separate work and fun, rather than have passion for their work. Very few professions allow people to work on things as they want.
People are told to balance work and play, but people with low incomes even in the US often can't pay the bills with a single job. They end up becoming slaves who do little more than follow their boss's orders and recuperate the rest of the time.
I lost interest in anime and manga. I started many, but I rarely feel a desire to watch or read past the first episode or volume.
I refused to compromise and become a cog in the system. I never saw being a lawyer or a doctor as something to be desired. And here I am, a NEET who consumed all there is to consume in sight.
I avoid places with normies because I was never like them. They are people who wanted to play "respectable" roles in society and I was never there. I can't relate to them.
I sucked the fun out of life. Since there's no fun left, there's no fear of losing it. I'm unable to work because there's no fun left to work for. I wonder if this is what it means to be a degenerate. In any case, this life is no better or worse than anyone else's.
