It doesn't take an economics class to know that impoverished groups tend to stay impoverished without any systemic changes. I think Americans owe it to the black communities across america to give them the economic and social capital that was wrongfully denied to their ancestors. And not in Monetary value that could easily be exploited by just raising the price of the products they consume and the houses they live in, but in a much stronger social safety net to make sure they have a much higher standard of living than they do today.
