Yeah it's like that. Well since I'm tall I think you can do the lifting while bending down less. It makes sense but the middle shaft that bends to the top one needs to be much longer for it to work for me. I still have to bend (but like 4 inches less) doesn't help at all.

My issue with the ergonomic shovels is when it's deep, sticky snow you pick up the snow, move it over where you want to drop it, and then it requires more leverage to turn it over and slide the snow out. If the handles straight you just twist it and the weight isn't moving fro the axis so it's more efficient. With the ergonomic ones you have to chuck it underhand.
