Why did the founding fathers give us the electoral college instead of popular vote for president. Is it something we should consider getting rid of today?

thats a dumb ass question. if you knew the importance of the electoral college and why its there you would understand how dumb you sound. a simple google search will show you the reason why we need an electoral college. this goes way back.
