I don't think you can just, "end the fed," as much as I would like to see it. The reason is that it's tied into everything else.

Probably the best course to take would be to have congress seize control of the fed, it's technically their job to create the currency anyway, while at the same time allowing for competing currencies, i.e gold, silver.
