PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man and woman were found dead in their home Tuesday morning, each with a single gunshot wound.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Rick Jackels, 59, and Suzanne Jackels, 57, were found dead in the 3100 block of NW Lakeview Drive in Polk County. Deputies went to check on them after neither had been to work for two days.
Friends said they last heard from the couple on Saturday afternoon.
Investigators said the couple had been dead for a few days before they were found.
According to friends of the couple, Suzanne worked as a financial analyst for many years at the Bonneville Power Administration. Rick worked in IT for the Oregon court system.
They were also active in the local Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club.
"They were wonderful people they were never separated," friend John Phipps said. "We just went on a cruise with them just after Thanksgiving – had a blast."
Police said there is no evidence of outstanding suspects but the investigation is ongoing.
