1,200 new jobs pledged as Harland & Wolff-led consortium is awarded a $1.9 billion Royal Navy contract

LONDON, Nov 16 (Reuters) – Britain has selected a Harland & Wolff-led consortium to build three Royal Navy support ships under a 1.6 billion pound ($1.9 billion) contract that will create 1,200 jobs in UK shipyards, including in Belfast where final assembly will take place.

The consortium, which comprises ship designer BMT, Harland & Wolff and Navantia UK, was appointed preferred bidder to deliver the three support vessels that will provide munitions, stores and provisions to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s aircraft carriers, destroyers and frigates, the government said on Wednesday.

The consortium’s proposal included a 77 million pound investment into UK shipyards and aims to deliver an additional 800 jobs in the supply chain. 

“Building on ambitions laid out in the National Shipbuilding Strategy, this contract will bolster technology transfer and key skills from a world-renowned shipbuilder, crucial in the modernisation of British shipyards,” Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said in a statement. 

The vessels – each the length of two Premier League football pitches – will be the second longest military ships after the two Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers.

Production will start in 2025, with all three ships expected to be operational from 2032, the government said.

Nearly three years since the world first heard of COVID-19, societies across the globe are still reeling from prolonged lockdowns and harsh social restrictions, which many governments implemented in order to supposedly “stop the spread” of the virus. Britain is no exception, and while the full long-term impact of such measures remains unknown, some grueling effects are already painfully apparent.

Patients receiving care for cancer, cardiovascular, and respiratory disease were prevented from accessing routine treatment; rates of clinical depression and mobile phone addiction among university students skyrocketed; adults of all ages reported worsening mental health conditions; and the number of Britons seeking help for drug addiction increased by 81% between 2020 and 2021.

Meanwhile, school closures exposed Britain’s youth to food insecurity and increased likelihood of falling victim to domestic abuse, while the rapid digitization of education further widened learning gaps between wealthy and low-income students in the country.

“We were mesmerized by the once-in-a-century scale of the emergency and succeeded only in making a crisis even worse. In short, we panicked,” lamented Professor Mark Woolhouse, an Edinburgh University epidemiologist, in January 2022.

As with many contemporary critics of the British government’s initial “Zero COVID” strategy, Woolhouse argued a targeted response to protect the most vulnerable members of society, such as the elderly, would have done more to curb Britain’s death toll than blanket, nationwide lockdowns.

“This was an epidemic crying out for a precision public health approach and it got the opposite,” he explained.

Newly found vid evidence recorded Piccadilly Circus to Leicester Square on 24-NOV-2013-T.

1. Clear view of shop windows at Cool Britannia. No 75% sale signs but the items in the displays are close matches to pictorial evidence from before the damage to the Snow Globe, which also appeared in this recording.

This indicates the 75% sale signs were added AFTER 24-NOV-2013-Afternoon-T and possibly close to 23-DEC-2013-Evening-T.

"Afternoon" as per the content of this recording.

"Evening" as per the recording of the damaged Snow Globe.

Possibly these 75% signs would have appeared in these shop windows as replacements for the DEC-2013 50% sale signs. The 50% sale signs did not appear in this newly found video which suggests the seasonal window display sort of "set the stage" for these sale signs that came later.

2. This recording of 24-NOV-2013-T also showed the LG G3 ad board and the same ad that appeared in one of the Q pics of Piccadilly Circus.

Indicates continuity with previous pictorial evidence and with conjecture regarding the broader time interval as applicable due to documentated release dates of G2 and of G3 in the London mobile phone market.

3. This newly found recording also recorded the bus stand at which the Q Pic of the Red Bus was captured. In this recording the old bus stop flag (or sign) was still present and does NOT match the Red Bus pic.

This would move the NOT BEFORE bookend for the Red Bus pic to at least 24-NOV-2013-T; this indicates that the bus stop sign changed during the interim before the images captured on 31-DEC-2013-T (by Gavin). That cuts out more than 3 weeks from previous documented bookend which was based solely on the date on which the City of Westminster had approved changing the bus stop sign.

4. This newly found recording captured views of the small ticket kiosk which appeared in the background of the Q pic of the Red Bus.

A few details provided very good Q match but also show a difference which was captured in another Late-NOV-2013-T video. This second newly found vid also provided a very good Q match with the kiosk.

That second video was taken on the same date, according to the poster of the video, and so the discrepancy between these two newly found videos suggest that late November was a time of some changes to that kiosk which were also captured in the Q pic.

Also, there is a stock photo with a taken date reported as 13-NOV-2013 which is a close Q match and which is also a close match with images captured in SV-AUG-2014.

More on this later.

5. The 24-NOV-2013-Evening-T video (the one discussed in item 1 above) also recorded the white street sign that was captured in the Q pics of Piccadilly - on the Cool Britannia side of Coventry Street. Very good views of this sign were recorded and show the small round sticker over the text. This view of that sign is a Q match.

That small sticker was captured in a video taken 10-NOV-2013-T which consisted of more than a full minute of very clear view from a camera that was fixed on a tripod.

So this newly found video showed the Q pic could have been taken at least as early as 10-NOV-2013 and at least as late as 14-NOV-2013.

If I am not mistaken, there is more video evidence of that small sticker in its place during mid-DEC-2013 but gone by 31-JAN-2013-T but I have not managed to confirm in the Gavin recordings of NYE. Can Anons help with this?

In sum: the pictorial evidence shows more details of the shop windows of Cool Britannia in tandem with the Snow Globe and the small sticker on the street sign near Cool Britannia.

I forgot to mention the lack of small Christmas trees in the 9DEC. Are you saying that vid could be before even the 50% off signs? You think the 9DEC vid date is merely the posted date? I have been thinking the CB store waited until fairly late to add those small tree decorations compared to nearby street decorations being already up as seen in that very same vid. Same for Coventry Street. Seems they were one of the last to put their overhead decorations up.

I like what you are saying here. I was starting to feel deflated about my theory above about the CB Q pics occurring between 9DEC and 31DEC. Now- although my premise about the post vs taken date of the 9DEC may have been optimistic, I think the likely timing/duration of the two back-to-back sales, 50% followed by 75% occurring in DECEMBER, and then the signs disappearing by 31DEC in Gav’s NYE vids is feeling comfy. It’s just a matter of constantly comparing markers.

At the top of a pedestrian traffic lights post there was a white box ontop which looked like a camera or a transmitter. Whatever it was, it was not there prior to changes that came AFTER the RED BUS pic had been taken.

Note that in the 23-MAR-2014 stock photo, the green light was lit even though the post had been lifted out of its position. This lifting might have been necessary to make room for cranes or other vehicles that were moved into place for the demolition. Interdasting that it remained powered up and perhaps still controlled pedestrian traffic.

Here is an open sauce vid from a camera recording from within the top deck of a London double decker bus. Posted JULY-2014.

The Pappad pic was probably taken during summer weather between MAY 2014 and MAY 2015, so most likely summer 2014. Of course, spring weather in London can be quite warm and the pic might possibly have been taken in APR-MAY 2015.

The Red Bus pic showed no driver upfront. Private Hire might not have a Conductor and so the Driver might play two roles and meet the group of passengers as the board on the rear platform. There is no front door for passengers on the RML, only the rear platform. That part of this bus is out of frame in the Q pic. This cuts out both the driver and the passengers boarding at the moment the pic was taken.

The lady with long blonde hair seems to be Q'd to climb aboard?

In foreground, natch, Anons will recognize possible Gina Haspel lookalike. If this was a private hire, rather than a tour bus open to all-comers, then its being parked at THAT stand may lead to moar meaning.

Why a double decker bus? To identify London as location. To not the L in RML? No longer in regular service, like, say, an operative, but now a "private hire"?

This is a bus stand, not a bus stop, at a location that is NOT on a TfL route. The stand is designated for The Original Bus Tour which may suggest the notion of The Origin, as in the origin of the spygate operation?

The shiny panels of the bus are almost mirrors of the building facade behind the camera. That camera may have been mounted at the entrance to the Cafe de Paris or to the Grosvenor Casino. Due to the relative darkness of the shop fronts of those two establishments, they do not reflect well; they are almost stealth like in this context.

What is a facade? A false front? The building situated kitty-corner to the bus stand, across the way in the background (left side of pic) would soon be gutted of its interior and its topmost floors/roof; the facade of the lower levels were preserved. This building had been known as The Communications House and now is renamed, LSQ for Leicester Square. Note the unusual use of the Q in the acronym.

During the renovations to Communications, the parameter was wrapped in massive white hoarding emblazoned with the images of black birds in flight. While these images did not suggest singing birds, they perhaps did hint of freed birds on the limb, or at least the appearance of such as a sort of motif for a building or establishment or operation being gutted - perhaps like a symbolic bird cage - and replaced by a different building.

Communications House was built with major power lines running through its subterranean floors; it also had significant transmitter equipment on it utility floor and the rooftop above that.

Now, the Q pic was also composed to be dominated, at least in geometical area, by the double decker red bus and its mirror-like surface. Might that be connected, symbolically, with the Double Decker Carousel which was decorated with many mirrors, at Winter Wonderland and in the Q pics of that theme park? And, out of frame of the WW pic, are two tall towers from which security cameras kept an eye on the crowds, looking for pick pockets and such. The towers were barely noticable in the Q pic but became key markers in dating the image as well as in situating the Q camera pov. Interestingly, these two towers were introduced the year that the pic was taken and have never again been setup in that location and orientation in the Power Tower Plaza. So not only present in the Q pic, but almost hidden from view, yet a key marker for establishing both when and where the Q camera was at that moment. That camera, it would seem, was on legs, too, and that suggests that the position of the camera may hold further meaning or significance.

The PappaD connexion with all of the above is not that the PappaD pic was dropped in a Q post, for it was not; but it is "London Pic" that may fall within or very near the time interval for all of the Q pics, except for the Black Box, which was taken in 2018 around the time that PappaD came into prominence in the revealing stories around Spygate. Hence the potential significance of the tweet included above.

London has many secrets lurking beneath its busy streets - some open to the public and some very much secrets that have been forgotten. London is rumored to be home to one of the greatest secret tunnels systems in the world and even no one fully knows what's down there. Among London's many subterranean mysteries lay many abandoned subway stations.

The official site "Transport for London" states

"There are 272 functioning stations across our network, but at least 40 Overground and Underground stations still in existence are no longer used for travel."

They go on to explain that these stations have been closed for a variety of reasons including, re-routing, low passenger numbers, among other reasons.

While many of these stations are closed, some were never opened to the public in the first place. Some may not be served by the Underground but still remain open to the National Rail mainline services.

Number of Abandoned Stations: 40 Including Both Underground and Overground

Many of the abandoned stations were originally planned as part of new lines or extensions to existing ones but were later abandoned. Some of the stations have been demolished and others have been redeveloped. One can find a full breakdown of the stations on Abandoned Stations.org

For those with too much time on their hands, one can research the abandoned stations by going through the Corporate Archives Collections section of the Transport for London website.

Charing Cross Underground Station Tours

Charing Cross is also one of the most famous stations of the London Underground network. On this tour, one will go behind closed doors to various exclusive areas not accessible to the general public. And one will find oneself walking under Trafalgar Square.

The Jubilee line platforms have been closed to the public since 1999 but one has likely seen them on TV. Perhaps one has seen its eerily underground locations for blockbuster films like the Bond hit Skyfall and even Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World.

‘World class’ London hotel proposed for site with secret tunnel to Harrods

Iconic luxury retailer Harrods could be making a move into the hospitality market as rumours of the brand’s first hotel development circulate.

Planning permission has been granted for the creation of a £300m luxury hotel on the site of an NCP car park that is connected to Harrods via a secret tunnel.

The freehold site was acquired in 2013 by Singapore-based Kwek Leng Beng’s CDL property group for £85m, and had residential planning consent.

Beng is also chairman of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.

Harrods is owed by Qatar Investment Authority, which for years has teased ambitions to take the department store brand global by building upmarket hotels bearing its name in cities around the world, including London.

Speculation is that this new development could become the debut Harrods Hotel in the capital.

However, a spokesperson for Harrods told Boutique Hotelier: “There is a historic tunnel on this site, however it has been blocked up for twenty years – it will remain blocked up and will offer no access to Harrods.”

The new hotel development plan comprises 120 bedrooms over eight floors, plus 23,000 sq ft of space at ground level across three basement levels which is to house a spa and retail units. It is expected to take 30 months to complete.

It is being designed by Tim Hamilton of UK-based Hamilton Architects.

Speaking to The Times, David Ashcroft, 60, chief executive of Dartmouth, representing the developers, said the car park had been built on the site of a former Harrods clearing warehouse. “When we bought the site we knew from the legal documents that there was a tunnel but it had been blocked up at both ends. We only found the entrance last week and informed Harrods of that. It’s in remarkably good condition, still green Harrods carpets and lots of Harrods signs.”

Ashcroft declined to comment on whether Harrods might be interested in running it as a Harrods hotel. “I think you can be assured that a world class brand will be occupying it.”

Abandoned London Underground station where man, 20, tragically died and wasn't found until 3 weeks later

Even today relics of this era remain with those lucky enough to get a tour around the underground section of the station reporting seeing discarded 1940s machinery and even a propaganda projection screen on the end wall of one platform, presumably used for wartime workers in the building to watch. All this existing just meters from Piccadilly line riders everyday as they pass through the bricked up station.

After the war the station was used both by the Territorial Army and the Ministry of Defence, although much of the old station building on the surface was demolished in 1972. Thankfully one easily recognisable façade does remain on Brompton Road, its red-glazed terracotta design a familiar one found at many older Tube stations.

The station met with tragedy in 1994 though when a mechanical engineering student at University of London Royal Naval Unit went missing in the Kensington area following a Christmas Party. Three weeks later, 20-year-old Sean Harper was found dead at the bottom of one of the old Brompton Road Station's 80ft lift shafts.

The Christmas party was being held in the services training base in the building above the station, Sean having disappeared at the end of the party. Cars in the unit's basement were found vandalised, with glass from these car's windows in Sean's feet. Investigators never managed to uncover how Sean ended up at the bottom of the lift shaft though, with the only access from the roof of the building.

The Independent reported at the time of Sean's inquest that the British Transport Police's investigating officer Det Insp Alan Wilson said: "This has been the most frustrating inquiry I've worked on. We have done so much, but there's a period between 6am and 7am that we can't account for.

Brompton Road

Brompton Road is another abandoned Piccadilly line Underground station.

Open to passengers from 1906 to 1934, the station was located between Knightsbridge and South Kensington - but low passenger numbers ultimately made it unviable.

The station was closed in July 1934, following the redevelopment of nearby Knightsbridge station.

The fastener for the overhead decorations was captured in GAVIN recording 31-DEC-2013-T. And from the appearance, it is a gud Q match which suggests that we have some backup for the assumption that the in Red Bus the fastner was under tension AND that the overhead ger was hanging above the bus stand.

Now, that helps get us only that far.

Why is there no reflection on the shiny bus? Those decorations would have been very reflective even when not lit-up.

Or, on the contrary, do Anons see the reflection/s of the gear overhead? if so, that would be amazing. If not, also amazing but in a very different way, yes?

But before we reach that either/or, I suppose we really ought to consider whether or not the decorations would have produced reflective evidence from the positive of the Q camera at whatever time of day that pic was taken.

I am also still unsure about the two overhangs on the KFC shopfront. I think i can make one in the reflections but not both. What do you see?

Here are markers I used to map the reflections to the SV images of the KFC shopfront.

A. Building Address sign.

B. Top pains in large upper floor windows.

C. Square pains in large windows above Grosvenor Casino canopy.

Note the the Q camera appears to have captured the upper floor mostly and at a steep angle. This created a sort of compression vertically. And, again due to the angle of the camera, there is a sort of compression of the view of the shopfront closest to the front of the bus.

More markers below, but please keep in mind that this is orientation to find the retractable canopies over the shop windows. This is how I traced my way to the windows where I think I see no canopies. Perhaps they were rolled back in anticipation of windy weather? IDK.

D. Wall between Casino/Cafe and the KFC.

E. Area on the wall betwween Cafe and KFC. There is a transition that is reflected in slight difference in colours.

F. Wall between window and entrance way. Right above is the address sign, A.

Now at the street level the pedestrians interfered with the reflection so instead focus above their heads.

J. Window nearest corner of KFC. In this compressed view, maybe can make out the hanging KFC sign at the entrance.

K. The "blank" area that seems to show zero reflections. Dead zone. Kek. Well, given the camera angle, this may be due to the black and blank (nothing shiny) surface of the Grosvenor Casino overhang. And since the shot "crops" the "G" sign, as per the narrow portion of the upper floor window that is reflected, this area looks dead on reflection.

Certainly there are other markers that help map the reflections to the shopfront, but at this point I am satisfied that the two large ground floor shop windows are identified and that the entrance way is also identified.

This is for the purpose of finding the retractable canopies, which it now seems to me were retracted fully, both of them.

Okay, if Anons concur on that much, the next task set out for us is to decide if the overhead decorations are reflected on the bus.

1. If the decorations were in place, and unlit during the daytime, and given the position of the camera vis-a-vis the bus, would it be reasonable to expect to see the decorations reflected on the bus somewhere?

2. If the answer is no, ok.

3. If yes, then, where is the reflective evidence?

The significance is this: suppose the guide wires were installed before the decorations. Given how busy Coventry Street was (is) and given that the bus stand is occupied, might there have been a pause in the City crew's installation? IF such a pause occurred, this is only on spec of course, then, we might have a very firm date for the pic.

We have recently learned that the decorations were NOT in place near end of NOV 2013. We have linked Red Bus pic with the Piccadilly pics within a fairly broad time interval. We may be on the verge of nailing down the Piccadilly pics to Christmas eve/day or at least the week of Christmas. Might this Red Bus pic prove to be pre-Piccadilly Pics, then, we have the beginnings of a sequence.

Ok, so in >>17805941 the street decorations were not yet up, but here, 28-NOV-2013-T those lights were hanging over the street.

Pending moar info, looks like the decorations were installed between 24-28 NOV-2013. Could have been late night or early morning, natch, due to access and at least sidewalk closure if not road closure during the installation.

Now, this moves the bookend to the end of NOV-2013. Looks like we have eliminated the month of November (approval for the change in bus sign was passed on 31-OCT-2013) but still could do better if we find the new sign before GAVIN 31-DEC-2013-T.

I also read that there were tunnels under the building that Ripley's occupied at the time of the Q pics. These were linked to the two Tube lines. Plus there are loads of service tunnels for electrics and plumbing and moar directly under Piccadilly Circus between the TUBE underground centre and the surface. No matter how the change/s occurred, the differences provide evidence of a sequence within the CB window display. Seems to me that the "snow" on the surface is like a carpet; it was clearly laid out with a red pathway (Pall-Mall-ish) and then the props were re-arranged and another bit of carpet was used to cover the pathway. Now, sure, the sequence might have been the reverse. But that is a sequence, this way or that way.

And it may have shown up within a tight interval during mid to late Christmas 2013. Outside and above the shop windows the little trees might stake the order in which this sequence was displayed.

In the UKBreds we all have probably thought at some point that we have done enough to narrow the dating of each London pic, each series, and the whole collection. Close enough.

And perhaps this CB dig has reached that point? We seem to have reached a two-week interval around the week of Christmas, again, as we did with WW and EMB and CH and LisaMI6. Maybe not as narrow with Black Box.

Just to keep things interesting…at one time Hunter Biden had an office in London. I don't recall when, and barely remember the image of the location via the maritime site I looked at. I want to say North of Hyde Park and I seem to remember talking about it being within walking distance of Soho.

Those pallets were full of smart phones to be distributed members, i.e. Hillary, bill, Hussein, bremmer,etc.. These were special phone which the cabal thought could not be tracked or monitored. The cabal needed a new way to communicate after Q exposed their gmail draft and game forum methods.

Hillary was in NZ (FIVEEYES), not only to raise funds (if that is the true story) but to test out the phones. . Under directions of Trump, NZ told Hillary that the phones were good.

The cabal worked with China’s ZTE for these special PHONES. That is why ZTE was in the news lately. Trump drew attention to them to send the cabal a message that he was on to them.

The pics in London show the cabal meeting up after communicating with their secret phones.

Hillary was in NZ (FIVEEYES), not only to raise funds (if that is the true story) but to test out the phones. . Under directions of Trump, NZ told Hillary that the phones were good.

The cabal worked with China’s ZTE for these special PHONES. That is why ZTE was in the news lately. Trump drew attention to them to send the cabal a message that he was on to them.

Station chief (COS) Un-named woman c-2009
