Joe Biden declared the Covid pandemic is over in a sit-down interview with “60 Minutes” that aired on Sunday evening.

This was Joe Biden’s first interview with an American outlet in more than 7 months.

“The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s – but the pandemic is over,” Biden said to Scott Pelley.

Biden came under fire for his comments from the Covid cultists.

World Economic Forum Hosts Creepy ‘Climate Crisis’ Confab in NYC as Clinton Global Initiative and UN General Assembly Kicks Off Simultaneously Across Town

The World Economic Forum and the Clinton Foundation are hosting summits in New York City this week as the 77th annual United Nations General Assembly convenes.

On Monday, the WEF commenced its “Sustainable Development Impact Meetings” where the organization’s leaders detail a plan to advance its Great Reset agenda and eradicate individual rights and national sovereignty.

The WEF is partnered with major financial and media institutions to execute its “you will own nothing and you will be happy.”

A video that aired at the summit, featuring Al Gore and BlackRock official Pamela Chan, showcases the WEF’s plan to mitigate the so-called “climate crisis.”

“The extreme weather events that the scientists have long connected to the climate crisis are becoming far more frequent and far more destructive,” Gore warns in the 56 minute video. Although, this is mostly untrue.

“Younger generations are demanding a sense of purpose. They want to look at a company and say, ‘I am investing with you all for this reason,” Chan, a WEF Global Leader and Global Shaper, says in the video.

On Tuesday, the WEF is slated to host two panels during the conference featuring corporate media reporters. MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle will discuss the “Green Transition” and “the future of work panel.”

CNN Vice President Rachel Smolkin will host the other panel titled, “Tackling Disinformation.”

“Disinformation is not new. Examples of disinformation and so-called fake news campaigns are plentiful,” a teaser of the CNN presentation states. “But with increasing fears about the cost of living — exacerbated by the pandemic and the energy crisis — it is now more critical than ever to tackle disinformation head-on.”

On Wednesday, WEF will feature presentations showcasing “Web3’s Climate Impact,” outlining how digital currency, blockchain technology and the “metaverse” will be impacted by the climate crisis the organization is planning to unleash.

Web3, a term coined by Ethereum co-founder Gavin Wood in 2014, refers to a “decentralized online ecosystem based on blockchain.”

Ethereum, a digital asset, was recently re-engineered into the foundation for a potential global Central Bank Digital Currency and is now the “WEF coin”, investigative journalist Jordan Schachtel reports.

China restructures Ecuador debt amidst country's economic challenges

The government of Ecuador announced on Monday that it has reached a deal with China to restructure debts.

The new agreements with Chinese Banks will provide Ecuador with a $1.4 billion debt relief till 2025.

Last February, President Guillermo Lasso announced plans to restructure the country's debt as it faces the economic fall-out of the Covid period and challenges in the current world economy.

The agreements would allow Ecuador to reduce the amortization and extend the maturity on a $1.4 billion loan from the China Development Bank while extending the maturity of a loan worth $1.8 billion to the Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank) as well as suspending all amortizations and reducing some interest rates for a six-months grace period.

In a statement, the President's press team said, "As a result of these agreements, the maturities are extended to 2027 for China Development Bank and 2032 for Eximbank, allowing the cash-flow relief to support government priorities."

Oil contracts were also revisited, as state-owned company Petroecuador announced last week reaching a deal with Chinese Oil Company CNPC to extend oil deliveries from 2024 until 2027, which would allow Ecuador to sell certain amounts to the market, and given current high oil prices, Petroecuador stated that this deal will bring in around $709 million in revenue through 2027.

Ecuador's economy is heavily reliant on oil earnings, with exports accounting for 65% of total output in the first four months of 2022.

President Lasso said that the agreements are expected to save the country $1 billion.

It's noteworthy that in the past few months, tens of thousands of protesters took part in a statewide demonstration against mounting hardship in the economy.

The powerful Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie) - which represents more than one million of Ecuador's 17.7 million inhabitants - called for the protests to demand cheaper fuel and food price controls that were joined by students, workers, and others.

Protesters called for a reduction in already subsidized gasoline costs, which have risen substantially in recent months, as well as jobs, price restrictions on food, and increased government investment in healthcare and education.

Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed AB 351 into law on September 18, enabling Californians to turn human beings into plant food. What previously would have constituted improper disposal of human remains under the law and qualified as a crime, will soon be a permissible practice for approved and regulated "reduction chamber manufacturers."

Human composting is also legal in Washington, Colorado, Oregon and Vermont.

Accordingly, rather than having a human body entombed or cremated, as of January 1, 2027, a corpse can be broken down into soil, which then can be utilized by the deceased's family or donated to conservation land.

Although different human renderers' methods may vary, one approach is the placement of a corpse "in a vessel surrounded by wood chips, alfalfa, and straw." The body is aerated, enclosed, and then consumed over the course of weeks by bacteria and microbes. Afterwards, the resulting cubic yard of human soil is cured for two to six weeks.

KNTV reported that the price of opting out of a normal burial and having a loved one instead turned into garden material is $7,000.

Cristina Garcia is the Democrat member of the California State Assembly who proposed the bill. She cited "natural organic reduction" as a "more environmentally-friendly … choice for burial," and suggested that composting human beings was one way to tackle so called climate change.

Recompose, a "full-service funeral home specializing in human composting," will be among the human rendering companies to begin transforming the dead into nutrients next year. The company has supported Garcia's push for legalization.

The company's CEO, Katrina Spade, indicated that in addition to combatting changing weather patterns, this "process would provide Californians an option that offers significant savings in carbon emissions and land usage over conventional burial or cremation."

In 2014, Spade penned a blog entry for the Huffington Post, saying "You might take solace in the fact that when you die, your days of pollution are over." She argued that as conventionally buried bodies break down, they slowly expel emissions, including methane. These emissions, argued Spade, in combination with those involved in the manufacture of coffins and the use of embalming, have a "deleterious" impact on the environment.

Zelensky, NATO explain how Ukraine could become a 'big Israel'

The Atlantic Council, a NATO-backed think tank, is openly proposing that Ukraine embody a more enhanced version of the Israeli political model, based on hyper-militarization, intelligence superiority, and technological innovation.

In other words, Ukraine is crystallizing into its most fascist form, a blow to the so-called claims of “democracy” that NATO and Western powers are marketing.

The paper, titled "Zelenskyy wants Ukraine to be ‘a big Israel.’ Here’s a road map.," was published in early April, and is written by Daniel Shapiro, former US ambassador to “Israel,” who has worked for Israeli intelligence and enjoys close ties with Israeli think tanks. Shapiro is currently an Israeli spy-tech consultant.

This suggestion was not born from a vacuum. Within the same timeframe, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky divulged to reporters that in the future, he’d like Ukraine to be “a big Israel,” after which NATO released the article which roughly explains how the model could be executed.

Zelensky articulated that Ukraine would never be like Switzerland (as of February 24), which has remained neutral when it came to regional conflicts. Rather, he said: “we will definitely become a ‘big Israel’ with its own face.”

The Jewish president, who paid no heed to his neo-Nazi battalions (quite ironically), went on to explain what a “big Israel” would look like:

“We will not be surprised that we will have representatives of the Armed Forces or the National Guard in all institutions, supermarkets, cinemas — there will be people with weapons,” Ukraine’s president said, predicting a bleak existence for his citizens. “I am sure that our security issue will be number one in the next ten years.”

The future of Ukraine, according to Zelensky, will not be “absolutely liberal, European.”

Shapiro explained that the “two embattled countries share more than you might think.” The vision to create a ‘big Israel’ out of Ukraine, according to the former ambassador, would be to militarize Ukraine so much to push US interest in Eastern Europe against its rival, Russia.

Although in 2018, 40 human rights activists petitioned the Israeli High Court of Justice to stop arming Ukraine after Azov Battalion members were caught brandishing Israeli-made weapons, the military entity has been sending mercenaries to Ukraine and providing weapons since February.

Zelensky has cried anti-Semitism in recent months, citing that “Putin’s war” is a war on Ukrainian Jews, although they make up less than 0.5% of the population. However, the Ukrainian president seems very much unfazed by the openly Nazi battalions in this country. Perhaps the two do, indeed, have very much in common.

The ground-breaking model

The proposed model, first and foremost, suggested increasing security – in other words, ramping up surveillance and intelligence – in Ukraine. He explains that the basis for security in “Israel” is that the entirety of the population participates.

“Civilians recognize their responsibility to follow security protocols and contribute to the cause,” Shapiro wrote of Israeli settlers. “Some even arm themselves (though under strict supervision) to do so. The widespread mobilization of Ukrainian society in collective defense suggests that the country has this potential.”

To draw the parallel, this idea aligns with Zelenksy’s vision: “People with weapons,” as the president explained, will be existent in every aspect of civilian life.

Shapiro furthermore seconded Israeli “high-tech innovation” in military and intelligence, which are highly assisted and backed by the US and citizens' taxpayer money as Washington allocates billions for the settler-colonial regime on a yearly basis.

It is striking that Zelensky undermined the role of foreign aid in cementing "Israel’s" feet in settler-colonial activities, explaining – either naively or purposely – that “Israel will defend itself, by itself—and rely on no other country to fight its battles.”

Ukraine, to become "Israel 2.0", “will need to upgrade its intelligence services”, as “Tel Aviv” “has invested deeply in its intelligence capabilities to ensure that it has the means to detect and deter its enemies—and, when needed, act proactively to strike them.”

Shapiro would know. In 2017, the former ambassador joined the Israeli spy company NSO as an independent advisor, where he assisted clients with the evaluation of Pegasus packages. The clients include multiple European Union nations and the Saudi monarchy.

FBI ‘Overstates’ Domestic Violent Extremism Threat, Removes Agents From Child Abuse Cases: New Whistleblower

A new whistleblower has alleged the FBI is “manipulating” case files to make it seem like America has a bigger “domestic violent extremism” (DVE) problem than it does, while redirecting resources away from child sexual abuse investigations to prioritize Jan. 6 cases, according to Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

The new whistleblower’s disclosures, Jordan said, indicate that the way the FBI’s field office in Washington, D.C. handles DVE cases related to Jan. 6 “diverge[s]” from established practice in such a way that it “overstates the national DVE threat.”

Instead of records reflecting a number of DVE cases “stemming from a single, black swan incident” in D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021, it appears on paper as if there has been a rise in DVE threats all around the country.

Jordan raised the allegations with FBI Director Christopher Wray in a letter on Monday, saying whistleblowers have contacted elected officials about “disturbing conduct” at the FBI, including “politicization within the Washington Field Office (WFO).”

This is not the first time Jordan has raised whistleblower allegations with Wray along these lines. In July, the Ohio congressman wrote to Wray about allegations supervisors were pressuring agents to “reclassify cases” as DVE even if they didn’t meet the criteria.

“Since then, new whistleblowers have come forward with concerning information about how the FBI is deliberately manipulating the way case files related to January 6 investigations are maintained in order to create a false and misleading narrative that domestic violent extremism is increasing around the country,” Jordan wrote.

‘Manipulative Casefile Practice’ Creates ‘Illusion’ of Extremism

According to Jordan, the whistleblower alleged “the FBI has not followed regular procedure” with Jan. 6 cases, which should all be officially led by the WFO.

Ordinarily, cases are characterized and labeled by the field office where they originate, with leads “cut,” or sent, to other field offices for specific assistance in that location.

But the whistleblower alleged the WFO has used a “manipulative casefile practice” to create the appearance of a larger number of purported DVE cases by farming out Jan. 6 DVE cases to FBI field offices in other geographic locations.

“The manipulative casefile practice creates false and misleading crime statistics,” the whistleblower alleged, according to Jordan.

“Instead of hundreds of investigations stemming from a single, black swan incident at the Capitol, FBI and DOJ officials point to significant increases in domestic violent extremism and terrorism around the United States.”

Hochul declared COVID emergency days after donor tied to $637M rapid-test deal held fundraiser

Political donor Charle Tebele hosted a campaign fundraiser for Gov. Kathy Hochul last November — just four days before she declared a state of emergency that paved the way for his company to receive $637 million in no-bid state contracts.

The stunning revelation — uncovered by the Times Union on Tuesday — has sparked renewed calls for state or federal officials to investigate the alleged pay-to-play scheme involving New Jersey-based distributor Digital Gadget, which was inked just weeks after the Nov. 22 fundraiser.

The state bought 52 million tests from Digital Gadget at roughly twice the price paid by places like California that bought directly from a manufacturer — all while Tebele and family members funneled $300,000 to Hochul’s campaign.

“Kathy Hochul gave a no-bid $600M+ contract to a top campaign supporter after she unilaterally suspended NY’s competitive bidding law. The same day the donor offered to be the middle man for the COVID tests, Hochul agreed to pay twice the price,” her Republican challenger, US Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) of Suffolk County, tweeted Tuesday.

“Where’s the AG, DA, & Comptroller?” he added.

State records show Tebele gave $2,000 to Hochul in May 2021 while she was still lieutenant governor under Andrew Cuomo while he was battling for his political life amid a litany of scandals that led him to resign in August 2021.

He gave $25,000 more on Nov. 9 before holding the Nov. 22 fundraiser where his wife Nancy Tebele – a sales executive at Digital Gadgets, according to her LinkedIn – gave Hochul $18,000 while Charlie Tebele chipped in $5,150 more, public records show.

Right around that time, the couple’s son began working for Hochul’s campaign as an intern before landing a paid gig as a “finance associate” for her campaign in May 2022, according to his LinkedIn.

Hochul declared a state of emergency four days later on Nov. 26, suspending procurement rules that might have blocked or held up the deal with Digital Gadgets, which the Times Union reported began receiving payments the following month.

Charlie Tebele dropped $25,000 more on her campaign in February, and $4,700 in April when he hosted another fundraiser for the governor about two weeks before the state made a final installment on the $637 million deal, according to the paper.

Records show he gave another $7,850 in May, and $20,000 to her running mate, Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado on June 20.

Nancy Tebele similarly dumped $94,300 on Hochul, Delgado and ex-Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin, who Delgado replaced this spring following her first LG’s federal indictment in relation to alleged campaign finance.

'Israel' made concessions to avoid escalation in Karish: IOF official

"Israel has made concessions in favor of Lebanon to demarcate the border to ward off the danger of escalation," said Amos Yadlin, former IOF Military Intelligence Directorate, according to the Israeli Maariv newspaper.

"Israel is showing leniency in the demarcation of the maritime borders," he said, threatening Lebanon that the IOF does not want it to turn into Gaza.

Referring to the area adjacent to an area the IOF usurped from the Palestinians and consequently occupied, Yadlin insolently demanded "compensation for ceding the maritime economic zone in Ras Al-Naqoura and all the region to the south Qana field."

"We insist on these points," he said, claiming that Sayyed Nasrallah "here has been trying to cause distortion."

"Let's give the Americans a few days, I'm ready to give them weeks, but no more than that," he said.

Furthermore, Yadlin claimed that Karish is "purely Israeli" and that "we have to pump gas from there," continuing to say, "The moment you concede to Nasrallah just once, you have to follow it with setting limits, because if the situation deteriorates toward an inevitable war, we know that we have done everything we can to prevent it."

Yesterday, Monday, Israeli media reported that the signing between "Israel" and Lebanon of the agreement “on the maritime borders” is very close, stressing that what remains are “some technical details.”

NYC Mayor’s Chief Of Staff Resigns Amid Questions About European Travel

Frank Carone, Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ chief of staff, announced his upcoming resignation Monday amid questions about whether his recent cruise in France was taxpayer-funded, according to The New York Times.

Carone told administration officials he would resign by the end of the year, according to the NYT, only hours after Adams refused to answer questions about Carone’s recent European travel. Carone spent some time on a Norwegian cruise in Normandy last month as part of the administration’s research into possibly housing migrants on cruise ships.

Carone, who has served as Adams’ chief of staff since January, said he had always intended to serve for only a year in government and plans to move on to Adams’ campaign, according to the NYT.

In addition to the French cruise, Carone took a trip to Sweden for a meeting about dyslexia, along with trips to Israel and South Korea, and claimed the travel was necessary to discuss policy issues and find business opportunities for the city, according to the NYT.

Carone frequently meets city elites at Casa Cipriani, a private club on the water in Lower Manhattan, though he says he pays for those meals himself, according to the NYT.

1.26 Million Migrants Apprehended in Texas-Based Border Sectors in 2022

Agents assigned to the five Texas-based Border Patrol sectors apprehended nearly 1.26 million migrants so far this fiscal year, federal reports indicate. This represents approximately 65 percent of all apprehensions along the U.S.-Mexico Border.

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Del Rio, Big Bend, and El Paso Sectors apprehended 1,258,923 migrants during the first 11 months of Fiscal Year 2022, according to the August Southwest Land Border Encounters report. Agents apprehended 1,997,769 in all nine southwest border sectors this year, Breitbart Texas reported.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector reports the highest number of apprehensions with 440,423 migrants taken into custody. Deaths due to an irregular heartbeat are likely to be one of the reasons more people than usual have been dying this year - with the number well above average so far.

The number of deaths registered in England and Wales due to cardiac arrhythmias was more than usual for much of the first half of 2022, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Deaths in this category had the second highest excess mortality figures in March and April, up from being the eighth highest in February and the fourth highest in January.

Excess deaths, or extra deaths, are the number of deaths that are above the long-term average for a particular week or month of the year.

There were 234 excess deaths due to an irregular heartbeat registered in March and 138 in April.

In both months this was the second highest number of excess deaths by cause, behind only those due to "ill-defined conditions" - a definition often used to cover symptoms such as old age and frailty.

The total number of deaths due to an irregular heartbeat was 37.1% above average in March and 23.1% in April - a sharp jump from 13.7% in January and 9.2% in February.

The percentages remained high in May and June (39.0% and 17.9%), but the number of excess deaths for this category ranked lower, in fifth and eighth place respectively.

Other leading causes to have contributed to excess deaths this year include ischaemic heart diseases, diabetes, and dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Overall 3,848 excess deaths were registered in England and Wales in the first half of 2022.

Sarah Caul, ONS head of mortality analysis, said the figure had been "driven by higher than expected numbers of deaths since March, which could be caused by a combination of factors.

"Across March, April and May we saw increases in deaths due to cardiac arrhythmias, predominantly among those aged 80 and above.

"Further work needs to be done to understand any link between the long-term effects of Covid and increasing cardiac deaths."

It is also possible that there has been some "mortality displacement", with the number of deaths higher than average now because of below-average deaths earlier in the year.

"Excess deaths do fluctuate over time and when looking at individual months in 2022, the number of deaths were below expected levels in January and February," she added.

Total deaths registered in England and Wales were 10.3% below average in January and 7.3% below in February, but were above average in every month from March to June.

May and June saw a particularly high level of excess mortality, with deaths 15.4% and 8.6% above average respectively.

Covid-19 has been only partly responsible for extra deaths in recent months, the ONS said.

Of the 6,473 excess deaths in May, more than three-quarters (4,897 or 76%) were not due to coronavirus.

The proportion was even higher in June, with 82% not due to Covid-19 (2,900 of 3,516).

Investigators Reveal the Cause of the Crash That Killed Rep. Jackie Walorski

On Aug. 3, Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) died in a car accident, along with Zachery Potts of the St. Joseph County Republican Party and Walorski’s Communications Director Emma Thomson, who were in the same car. Edith Schmucker, the driver of the vehicle that collided with the SUV Walorski was riding in, died as well.

Police have announced the cause of the accident that killed Walorski and three others. The Washington Post reports that the car in which Walorski was traveling and which Potts was driving was attempting to pass another vehicle on a two-lane highway when it struck Schmucker’s vehicle.

“The sheriff’s office released statements from the county coroner ruling the deaths of Walorski and the others as accidental from injuries suffered in the crash,” reports the Post. “Investigators blamed the crash on Potts for ‘driving left of center with a contributing factor of excessive speed.’”

A witness said that Potts attempted to pass a flatbed truck when it struck another vehicle. Data from the vehicle’s airbag control module shows thatPotts was going 77 mph at the time of the accident. Investigators also found no apparent mechanical issues with the SUV or evidence that anyone in the vehicle was using a cell phone at the time of the crash.

“All of the evidence and information gathered is consistent with someone attempting to pass another vehicle on a two-lane roadway,” the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Indiana Republicans chose 38-year-old businessman Rudy Yakym to replace Walorski on November’s ballot, which will include the special election to fill the rest of the current term as well as the general election for the next Congress. Yakym carries the endorsement of Walorski’s widower, Dean Swihart.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) praised My Son Hunter as “compelling, gripping art” providing “ammunition” in the context of America’s culture war on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Gaetz lamented what he said was an absence of dramatic films with right-wing themes. He said My Son Hunter, directed by Robert Davi and produced by the Unreported Story Society, begins filling this political void within culture and entertainment.

“I expected a documentary, and I don’t know why, but it seems as though the right has really embraced the documentary format, oftentimes to the exclusion of creating compelling, gripping art,” he said. “We are in a culture war, right now, and the ammunition in that culture war can’t simply be our words and our beliefs, we have to actually have pieces of culture that are gripping and that draw people and that compel people and move people and persuade people, and this was, I thought, a great example of that from Breitbart.”

Gaetz speculated that My Son Hunter may be a step towards creating a new ecosystem of entertainment separate from the status quo of leftist-dominated companies and industries.

He remarked, “I started thinking, as I was watching the movie, is this really the front-end of the wave to creating a new ecosystem where there is collaboration and real effort put into not just the right substance of the argument, but the right aesthetic, the right musical score?”

My Son Hunter may be an impetus for talented right-leaning artists to coordinate and create alternative content dissenting from political orthodoxies pushed by the largest entertainment companies, Gaetz considered.

“I mean — oh my gosh — the performance you guys got out of your lead was, I thought, really a showcase opportunity in the movie, and I hope it is,” he stated. “I really hope that this inspires other people who have a talent that you might not normally align with politics, but might be entertainment and movies, music, that people could think of ways to connect with one another.”

He continued, “Gen Z is the most socially interconnected generation in all of human history, and so we ought to use pieces like the My Son Hunter movie as a springboard to try to create those connections and really try to lower our shoulder in this culture war fully armed, and that’s what I think the movie does.”

Gaetz credited My Son Hunter with not being overtly political, adding hope that the film would provide a model for more dissident films with broad appeal.

“So often, the stuff that we do in this space on the right has a very community theater feature to it, and and that was not this,” he shared. “This has got the blockbuster feeling, you know, a lot of people went out to watch Maverick, and what was unique about that is that there weren’t these cringe moments from the left. It was like it was almost uniquely kind of devoid of the barrage of politics that the left bakes into a lot of their blockbuster works.”

He concluded, “The unapologetic embrace of that from the right in My Son Hunter is something that that we need to see more of.”

FBI report of a Chinese agent working at Twitter sparks calls for government action

Chinese rights activists overseas have told RFA that they are concerned but unsurprised at recent allegations that an agent of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was working at Twitter, saying such infiltration is part of Beijing’s global influence operation.

The FBI informed Twitter of at least one Chinese agent among its employees, according to U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, while hacker and whistleblower Peiter Zatko said the company’s lax security sparked fears that personal data on Chinese users was being collected by authorities in China.

Zatko, Twitter’s former head of security, made the allegations during testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, detailing internal clashes between some who sought advertising revenue from China, and others who were concerned about doing business inside China amid rising geopolitical tensions.

“This was a big internal conundrum,” Zatko told the hearing, adding that Twitter appeared reluctant to turn away from China.

“In a nutshell, if we were already in bed, it would be problematic if we lost that revenue stream,” he said.

Zatko said the FBI had told the company that China’s secret service, the Ministry of State Security, had an agent on the payroll.

A Twitter spokesperson said Twitter’s hiring process was independent of foreign influence, and that access to personal data was subject to stringent controls, adding that Zatko’s allegations were “riddled with inconsistencies and inaccuracies.”

France-based commentator Wang Longmeng said the CCP has long targeted Western social media platforms to wage its overseas influence campaigns, and that some of the company’s regional executives have close ties to the CCP, including Kathy Chen.

WhistleblowersChen’s 2016 appointment as Twitter’s managing director for Greater China raised concerns in particular, as it emerged she had served as a software engineer in the People’s Liberation Army’s strategic missile force.

“Kathy Chen, who had a military background, joined [the company], then Fei-fei Li became an independent director,” Wang said. “The CCP’s infiltration of Western media is one of its key strategies.”

“It’s not surprising that the whistleblower revealed there are Chinese agents at Twitter, because there have been suspensions and deleted accounts, and yet Twitter still allows CCP diplomats to spread rumors and lies,” he said.China bans Twitter, Facebook and other U.S. social media firms, but government agencies and diplomats use the platforms to reach an international audience

Rights activist Zhou Fengsuo, a former student leader during the 1989 Tiananmen protests and the chairman of Humanitarian China, said the U.S. government hasn’t responded adequately to the problem.

“Zoom closed our Zoom account for commemorating the June 4 [Tiananmen massacre], and the Zoom employee who was later indicted was part of China’s state security police,” Zhou told RFA.

Report: Mitch McConnell Turns Optimistic Republicans Could Win Senate Majority

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has reportedly changed his mind on Republican chances of retaking control of the Senate in the midterm elections.

Previously in doubt that Sen. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) plan at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) would yield positive results, McConnell was cautiously optimistic Republicans will gain the majority, the Chamber of Commerce told Axios.

McConnell attended a closed-door meeting on Monday at the chamber, where he said Republicans’ chances of retaking the Senate have improved. McConnell has previously claimed it was more likely Republicans would retake the House than the Senate.

McConnell’s words are notable because he has publicly opposed Scott’s plan of defeating Democrats in 2022.

Scott’s plan entailed spending early money in the Senate races, thus “defining” Democrats early and impacting the media’s polling.

With less money in the bank after the financial investment, McConnell suggested Scott should use his personal resources to further aid Republican candidates. McConnell and his wife were worth about $60 million in 2018.

Scott’s early investment to define Democrats seems to be paying off. Polling across the board, swing state races have improved in recent weeks. Races in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada have tightened within the margin of error. In Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Republican candidates still hold leads.

But in Arizona, Trump-endorsed Blake Masters, who is campaigning against establishment Sen. Mark Kelly (R-AZ), is lagging in the polls. A McConnell-backed super PAC pulled nearly $8 million in support of Masters. That has left Peter Thiel, MAGA billionaire investor, to convince the fund to recommit money to the race. McConnell has attacked Theil for not donating more money to Masters’ campaign.

McConnell’s attack on Thiel may be a cover for his feud with Scott, who has called out McConnell directly for misaligning his political agenda with the NRSC, accusing him of McConnell’s GOP wing of “trash-talking” MAGA Republicans who McConnell allegedly does not favor — like Blake Masters.

On Monday, Breitbart News reported McConnell will fundraise with Masters on Wednesday in Arizona. Last week, Sentinal Action Fund announced a $5 million investment in the race.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) will seek the Democratic presidential nomination if President Joe Biden does not, even if it means challenging Vice President Kamala Harris, a leading political fundraiser told The Wrap Monday. Newsom, who recently extended a challenge to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) over his relocating 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, plans to make a formal announcement after the midterm elections once Biden announces his plans on whether to seek a second term, the outlet reported. “After this midterm election is over, he absolutely is going to announce that he is running for the presidency once Biden announces that he is not running,” a prominent California fundraiser with close ties to Newsom told TheWrap. “No ifs, ands or buts. He will run if Biden does not.” In a recent interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” Sunday, Biden said it was “much too early” to say one way or another if he was running. “Look, my intention, as I said to begin with, is that I would run again,” Biden said. “But it’s just an intention. But is it a firm decision that I run again? That remains to be seen.” Newsom, who is currently seeking reelection against Republican Brian Dahle in the Golden State is expected to prevail since the state heavily leans Democratic. Formally, the California governor's office has tried to dispel the 2024 run report. Trump has consistently polled well among Republicans, winning multiple straw polls over his rival DeSantis. But polls of the general electorate have also found most Americans don’t want either Trump or Biden to run for the White House in 2024. The California and Florida governors have sparred on the airwaves other times this year. Newsom released an ad over Independence Day weekend urging Floridians to move to California over DeSantis’ policies on education and voter registration. A Florida PAC responded with a parody of Newsom’s ad that used some of the same footage to depict how DeSantis’ policies allowed Florida residents to go outside or attend school.
