This week new charges were filed against Ghislaine Maxwell linked to allegations from a woman who says she was abused during an era when Prince Andrew was in contact with paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein
Prince Andrew is under increased pressure to talk to US investigators after pal Ghislaine Maxwell faced new charges coinciding with his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
British socialite Maxwell is in a New York jail awaiting trial for allegedly grooming underage girls for Epstein from 1994 to 1997.
She is also accused of abusing them with him.
This was all before the Duke of York knew the late billionaire financier.
But this week new charges were filed against Maxwell, 59, linked to allegations from a woman who says she was abused between 2001 and 2004 – when Andrew was in contact with Epstein.
Maxwell’s lawyers are also seeking to get hold of the original picture of Andrew with his arm around Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was Epstein’s teenage sex slave.
Ms Giuffre, now 37, alleges Andrew, 61, had sex with her three times in 2001.
The prince vehemently denies it.
Court papers reveal Maxwell’s team is seeking original copies of photos including the 2001 Andrew snap.
Andrew has hinted the photo is fake.
Sources say pressure is mounting on him to talk to the FBI about his friendship with Epstein, which he vowed in his BBC Newsnight interview in 2019.
Mrs Giuffre said the picture is “authentic” and she gave the original to the FBI.
Maxwell faces eight charges after the fourth alleged victim was added.
A spokesman for the duke has been contacted for comment.

The Times had reported that the federal investigation into Mr. Gaetz was opened by the Justice Department during the end of the Trump administration under former Attorney General William P. Barr. All three sources said the probe of Mr. Gaetz is part of a broader investigation into an ally of his, Joel Greenberg, a former tax collector indicted last year on charges including sex trafficking, The Times said.
Mr. Greenberg pleaded not guilty to the charges last August, while The Times reported that prosecutors have not brought any charges against Mr. Gaetz. "
"Mr. Gaetz said on Fox News that his father was approached earlier this month by a former Justice Department official who requested that he pay him millions of dollars to make the allegations “go away.”
The congressman then went to the FBI, he said, and “they asked my dad to wear a wire, which he did.” He attests the recording will prove him innocent and urged the FBI to release its audio.
Mr. Gaetz also said the FBI has been in touch with a female friend of his who Mr. Carlson previously met, personally involving the Fox News host in the apparent federal probe.
“You and I went to dinner about two years ago, your wife was there, and I brought a friend of mine. You’ll remember her. And she was actually threatened by the FBI, told that if she wouldn’t cop to the fact that somehow I was involved in some pay-for-play scheme, that she could face trouble,” Mr. Gaetz told Mr. Carlson."
