Alternate social media platforms such as Parler and CloutHub are gaining followers among those people tired of being hounded for little more than voicing an opinion that doesn’t rest within the increasingly narrow and ever-changing constraints set by the social justice mob.

These narrow confines of conversation are why those who got in on the Tulsa rally nitpick session echo chamber might be shocked to read the reasons why, if I were an American voter, I’d likely cast my ballot to re-elect Trump.
The approved, official and never to be questioned mainstream narrative speaks almost exclusively about the small stuff that Trump does – the silly tweets, the gaffes that come from his lack of internal monologue, palace intrigue in the White House – and about the sideshows – the Mueller investigation, the Kavanaugh hearings, etc.
Their whole approach to discussing American politics and world affairs has become so small because of it. There are bigger conversations to be had though. And Trump has not only been right on many of the key big issues, but the gut impulses of this real estate developer turned reality TV star have been further ahead of the curve than those schooled at the finest public policy institutes.
The coronavirus pandemic has revealed how the following things Trump campaigned on in 2016, ones that were ignored or even laughed at by others, have only become more pressing:
It can no longer be denied that the unchecked rise of China as a global superpower determined to supplant American interests is a bad thing and must be beaten back by a coalition of good guys.

If the citizens of a nation wish to go all-in tackling climate change, so be it. But it must be done with their explicit consent and they must do it on their own terms. Trump was right to withdraw from the Paris climate accord all while reducing emissions more than any other country.
It should go without saying that tens of thousands of people per month crossing illegally into the United States via its southern border is an unsustainable problem. Someone needed to stand up to the open borders ideologues who were pushing to normalize the phenomenon.
Borders aren’t the only thing that have made a comeback during COVID-19. People are no longer buying the old talking point that manufacturing is forever gone from North America. They want manufacturing, especially that of vital goods, to be brought back home. It just remains to be seen whether consumers are willing to pay for them.
As Western countries lose their sense of self and illiberal nations like China, Turkey and Pakistan only increase their swagger, multinational gabfests have become even less trustworthy than they were before. We can’t be complicit in a triumph of the lowest common denominator on the world stage, yet that’s what’s been happening for years.
Trump’s lack of concern about debt and deficit figures and his wishful thinking that somehow he could wrangle a better deal out of North Korea are his two biggest failings. But these aren’t even on the haters’ radars. They’re too focused on the crowd size at Tulsa.
