The Almighty isn’t surprised by anything and there are no emergency meetings in Heaven. God is in control always. Revelation says there will be a one world government and, the way I see it, the USA must be destroyed or at least greatly incapacitated for another nation or group of nations to dominate the planet. Perhaps we’re even a willing participant in subjecting ourselves to another power (think how Obama talked about our decline and a new normal and all of that). Another possibility that I’ve pondered is that maybe we are the “wilderness” where Israel seeks refuge during the Great Tribulation. Revelation 12:14: “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” Maybe we’re the great eagle/wilderness? If so, that would imply we are still a very formidable power but not enough of a power to stop the Antichrist. Either way, like I said at the beginning of this post, God is in control! We know how this ends and I am ready come what may.
