Pressure on Vatican to Reveal Archives After 'UFO Cover Up' Claims

Pressure is growing on the Vatican to shed light on whether it was aware of a UFO being retrieved from Italy in the 1930s, amid a slew of claims about the U.S. government's knowledge and handling of contact with alien life.

It follows claims made by David Grusch, a U.S. Air Force veteran who previously worked at the National Reconnaissance Office on UFOs, in an interview in June that an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) was recovered from Magenta, a town near Milan, in 1933, before becoming a U.S. possession with the help of the papal state.

The whistleblower was among three people to recently testify to the House Oversight Committee on the allegations. He repeated his earlier claim that the federal government had been aware of non-human activity since the 1930s.

The Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA have publicly stressed that they have no evidence of alien life or of a government program to reverse-engineer alien materials.

The alien probe was launched after Grusch, who resigned from his post in April, told NewsNation that the government had retrieved several "non-human origin technical vehicles," some of which contained "dead pilots."

In the same interview, he claimed that under the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, the Italian government had recovered a UFO and moved it to a "secure airbase" for the remainder of his regime, which ended with the allied occupation of Italy.

Grusch alleged that then-Pope Pius XII had "backchanneled" knowledge of the UFO to the U.S., which "ended up scooping it" from them. When asked explicitly whether he was saying the Catholic church knew about the existence of alien life, Grusch responded: "Certainly."

NewsNation reported on Tuesday that it had been attempting to get the Vatican to publicly comment on the matter for a week, but had yet to receive a response. Newsweek approached the Vatican via email for comment on Wednesday.

Ross Coulthart, one of the journalists who interviewed Grusch prior to the congressional hearing, told the news network that other, unnamed sources had confirmed the story to him, and suggested that the Vatican's silence may be a sign of the claim's truth.

"It's a very difficult situation for the Vatican because if Mr Grusch is telling the truth—and I'm told he is—it's a difficult thing for the Vatican to admit without the U.S. concurring," he said. "I'm told the Vatican does have a very efficient intelligence service and it's long collaborated with intelligence services like the CIA providing useful intelligence, and especially in the wake of the Second World War."

Oppenheimer’s atomic bomb attracted aliens to Earth, UFO expert claims

Aliens started making more visits to Earth after the first atomic bomb was detonated because they're concerned we're doing to "destroy" the planet, a UFO expert has claimed.

Dr Steven Greer, an American ufologist who founded the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence, believes there are extraterrestrial beings out there who are "light years ahead of us in terms of technology".

But he says despite being far more advanced than us, the development of the first atomic bomb by Julius Robert Oppenheimer in 1945 — a story recently told in Christopher Nolan's box office hit Oppenheimer — gave aliens a reason to come to Earth.

He said there are "multiple issues" on Earth making aliens visit us but started by claiming the mysterious extraterrestrials have been sighted by humans for thousands of years.

"I don't think it's anything new that this planet and humans have been observed by extraterrestrial civilisations," he said.

The ufologist explained: "I mean there are cave drawings from 5,000 years ago that show a classic UFO with these life forms outside of it.

"There's artwork from the 1400s that demonstrate and show these objects in the sky with a beam of light coming down. There's a cave in India that has similar artwork."

But the first well-known UFO sighting wouldn't occur until 1947 when businessman Kenneth Arnold claimed to spot nine high-speed objects he described as "like saucers skipping on water" near Mount Rainier in Washington while flying his small plane.

The sighting led to a flying saucer craze across the US, with more than 800 similar sightings reported throughout the same year.

In the years since there's been a huge boom in UFO sightings across the world, and while some have put it down to people jumping on the bandwagon of a thrilling mystery, optical illusions, or even secret government weapons programs, Dr Greer believes aliens have been coming to Earth to observe us.

He claims the increase in UFO sightings can all be put down to one significant moment in human history.

"I think that the modern era, let's call it the modern era where there's so much of this going on, coincided precisely with the development and then detonation of the first atomic weapons," he said.

According to Dr Greer, who also founded the Disclosure project — which seeks the disclosure of allegedly classified UFO information — the explosion "got the attention" of aliens from other solar systems.

He explained: "What we didn't know, what Oppenheimer and Teller, all the people who worked on the Manhattan Project didn't know, there's an electromagnetic pulse that goes out — everybody's heard of, knocks out your electronics, electric grid — but there's also this scalar.

"Now scalar pulse is multiples of the speed of light and it is in this entangled aspect of quantum physics and it disrupts extraterrestrial travel and communications. So that got everyone's attention out there, these other star systems."

He claimed this is the reason why "every single nuclear bomb squadron, processing facility, ICMB site etc and so on here, UK, France, Soviet Union, Russia, have had some sort of UFO surveillance."

Dr Greer thinks the aliens have been watching us since the creation of atomic bombs because they're concerned about "us destroying the planet" but are also worried about the "risk they pose" to their own civilisations.

"There's a certain amount of interest in protecting life on Earth but there's also enlightened self-interest," he said.

But he claimed the detonation of atomic bombs isn't the only reason the otherworldly beings have been paying us a visit.

Revealing their second motive, he claimed governments have recovered alien spacecraft and the extraterrestrials are "concerned" about what we've learnt from the recoveries and how we might be using this information.

He said: "Secondly, I think they're concerned that the technologies we've gotten from studying these extraterrestrial vehicles that we have downed are now being turned into weapon systems targeting extraterrestrial vehicles out in space."

While Dr Greer said he is "quite convinced" the aliens visiting Earth are "fundamentally peaceful", he warned: "Where is the red line? How far can you push into this and create a threat where humans are a threat before they have to intervene?

The Missouri Democratic Party deleted a tweet calling for a house adorned with Trump campaign merchandise to "burn" down.

The state's Democratic Party responded to a Monday tweet by Democrat political influencer Jon Cooper asking Twitter users what they would do if the house covered with Trump campaign flags were their "next-door neighbor."

"The roof, the roof, the roof is on [fire] we don’t need no water, let the ‘insert your word,’ burn!" the Missouri Democrats tweeted, referencing Rock Master Scott and the Dynamic Three’s hit "The Roof is On Fire."

"#VoteBlue2024," they added.

The tweet was later deleted by the Missouri Democrats, but not before screenshots were taken.

The serial indictments and investigations of former President Trump are meant to rig the 2024 presidential election, but the latest indictment is unique in rigging even its aftermath.

Previous indictments of the former president had broken all sorts of new legal ground by turning misdemeanors into felonies and deciding that the statute of limitations is just a suggestion, but the Jan 6 indictment by Democrat special counsel Jack Smith criminalizes election challenges.

Or at least election challenges against Democrats. And along with that, all political dissent.

The Jan 6 indictment contends that Trump’s election challenges were a crime. What does this latest indictment offer that the previous indictments did not? This one is designed to intimidate any Republicans who might seek to challenge the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.

Unsatisfied with indicting the leading GOP primary candidate in order to rig the election, Democrats are criminalizing political opposition before and after the upcoming election.

The indictment reads more like a Washington Post editorial with its contention that Trump was “determined to remain in power” and so “spread lies” that there had been fraud to “create an intense national atmosphere of mistrust and anger, and erode public faith in the administration of the election.”

If contending that a presidential election was stolen is illegal, where is Al Gore’s indictment? No Democrats have ever been charged for claiming that Bush was elected by hanging chads, for challenging his election both times in Congress, or for spreading lies and launching investigations for their false claims that Trump had been elected by the Russians, even when they did this in order to “create an intense national atmosphere of mistrust and anger.”

When Democrats spread lies about an election, they get book deals and evening slots on MSNBC, and sometimes, like Gore, they even get Oscars and Nobel peace prizes.

Challenging elections has been a traditional practice going back over two centuries to the 1800 presidential election. Free nations with open elections are not afraid of election challenges and the Democrats have spent a fortune on their own election challenge efforts. The Biden campaign spent $20 million on over sixty post-election lawsuits in 2020.

Smith, a longtime Democrat crony, won’t be indicting Biden or Marc Elias. Instead, he’s indicting Trump for such invented crimes as “obstructing and impeding the January 6 congressional proceeding”, a “conspiracy against the right to vote” and a conspiracy to “obstruct” the “lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted and certified by the federal government.”

Describing publicly conducted election challenges as an effort to “defraud” the United States government turns 18 U.S. Code § 371 into an open-ended tool for suppressing a wide range of political dissent. Treating lobbying or any kind of advocacy as the equivalent of witness tampering weaponizes 18 U.S. Code § 1512 against virtually anyone trying to influence a function of government. Which is to say virtually everyone who is interested in politics. And finally deploying 18 U.S. Code § 241, originally designed to fight the KKK, against Trump and anyone trying to verify legitimate election results makes election fraud into a civil right.

Beyond the malicious abuses of federal law to target a political opponent, Jack Smith’s indictment will create an unprecedented suppression of the political opposition that will not end with Trump or with the 2024 presidential election. Smith has done nothing less than to take sections of the law and use them to build a criminal infrastructure that can be used to outlaw most political parties and activities on a level with that of Communist China or Russia.

This was the totalitarian state of affairs that Russiagate had only hinted at but that is reaching its maturity with an indictment that is not merely unconstitutional, but that seeks to replace any kind of open political system with a paranoid surveillance state that ruthlessly stamps out any threat to “democracy” by abusing existing laws to selectively target and imprison political opponents.

And that is what is really at stake here.

US frustrated with Zelensky (Whining) – CNBC

The Ukrainian leader’s constant demands and unwillingness to heed US advice has reportedly angered Washington on several occasions

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s conduct is a source of annoyance in Washington, CNBC reported on Wednesday. Zelensky angers his American backers byignoring their orders and issuing ever-greater demands, anonymous officials told the network.

Zelensky lashed out at NATO leadership before the bloc's summit in Lithuania last month, claiming it was “unprecedented and absurd” that the US-led bloc hadn’t offered Ukraine a timeline for membership. His outburst “did not really resonate well in Washington,” an anonymous source “with knowledge of the matter” told the American broadcaster. “The US administration was very annoyed.”

The incident drew sharp criticism from the normally-supportive UK, and left Washington so “furious” that it considered withdrawing its support for Ukraine’s eventual membership, the Washington Post reported.

CNBC’s source said that the pre-summit incident was one of several clashes between Washington and Kiev that have taken place since the conflict with Russia began last year.

“So the US is strongly advising Ukraine not to do certain things, but Kiev does them anyway, brushing aside or not addressing US concerns,” the source said. “And [then] they come at the United States, or Washington or the Biden administration, complaining about not being involved in NATO talks.”

The battle for the Donbass city of Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine) was a source of major tension between Zelensky and the US, pro-Ukraine military analyst Konrad Muzyka told CNBC.

“The Americans were encouraging, to put it mildly, the Ukrainians not to fight certain battles in the way that Russia wanted them to fight, as it could have long-term consequences in terms of manpower losses and artillery ammunition expenditure,” Muzyka explained. However, Zelensky insisted on trying to defend the city in the face of mounting casualties, before Wagner Group fighters declared it captured in May.

“The result is that they’ve lost a lot of men,”Muzyka said. “They expended a lot of artillery munitions, which would otherwise be used for this counteroffensive, and lastly, they burned out a lot of barrels for their guns, meaning they are unable to fully support their forces in the Bakhmut area.”

By the time Kiev did launch its counteroffensive against Russian forces in June, the US knew the Ukrainian military was unprepared. US journalist missing after attempt to flee Ukraine

Gonzalo Lira was detained on the Ukrainian side of the border, a source has confirmed to RT

Chilean-American reporter Gonzalo Lira, who claimed he would attempt to flee Ukraine after being subjected to physical abuse and extortion in custody, has gone missing, a source has confirmed to RT.

Lira, a vocal critic of the Ukrainian government, resurfaced this week, months after being arrested by the nation’s security service, the SBU. In a series of posts on Twitter and YouTube, he stated his intention to cross the border into Hungary and apply for political asylum.

In a series of tweets yesterday he claimed he had been kept incommunicado in pre-trial detention since early May. He also claimed he had been deprived of sleep, beaten and tortured by other inmates, on instructions from prison authorities.

Lira apparently never made it across the border. Mark Sleboda, a political analyst and frequent guest on RT, confirmed to the channel that Lira was stopped by Ukrainian border guards and has not been heard from since.

Lira had previously claimed that he had been released on bail after months in detention and ordered not to leave the city of Kharkov. However he added that he had his passport and was not wearing an electronic shackle, contrary to the terms of his release.

“Maybe I’m being set up by them so they can justify putting me away in a labor camp – so no one will ever know about their sordid extortion scheme,” he said. “I simply don’t know.”

In the event that he would cross the border in to Hungary, Lira expected Ukraine to issue an international arrest warrant for him for skipping bail. He added that he hoped Hungary would be willing to defy Kiev and not hand him over, unlike other EU nations.

“If you don’t hear from me in the next 12 hours—whelp! I’m on my way to a labor camp!” he concluded. There have been no further updates on his social media since.

Lira has been accused by Ukraine of “publicly justifying” the Russian military operation and “disseminating fakes [false stories] about the war in Ukraine”. He claims the charges were bogus and that he did nothing but explain his opinions about Kiev’s policies and report what was happening in the country.

The actor previously discussed gun control measures during a 2018 rally speech for the anti-gun group March For Our Lives, where he encouraged responsible gun owners to “take one for the team” and surrender some of their gun rights, including the ownership of semi-automatic long guns and certain magazines.

The country may look a bit brighter Tuesday under a new rule banning most incandescent and halogen lightbulbs. Under an Energy Department rule put in place in April 2022, the manufacture and sale of most household incandescent and halogen bulbs is banned as of Tuesday, per Quartz. There are exceptions, however, for appliance lamps, chandelier lights, infrared lamps, colored lamps, black lights, floodlights, plant grow lights, traffic signals, and other specialty lights, per CNN Business. For most household uses, consumers will have to opt for LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs. Unlike the traditional bulbs, the modern LEDs convert electrical energy directly into light, rather than heat, and are about 75% more efficient.

A bipartisan effort to ban incandescent bulbs began under the Bush administration and was expanded under the Obama administration. President Trump later rolled back the ban, complaining that LED bulbs were too pricey and made him look "orange." However, the Biden administration pushed ahead with the plan, and the Energy Department announced last year that common household bulbs would be required to emit at least 45 lumens (brightness) per watt as of this August. Traditional incandescent bulbs emit 12 to 18 lumens per watt, halogens emit 10 to 20 lumens per watt, and LEDs emit 75 to 110 lumens per watt, per Quartz. Though they cost up to four times as much as incandescent bulbs, LEDs also last 25 times as long—about 25,000 hours, according to Perch Energy.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Capitol Police tweeted on Wednesday just before 3 p.m. ET that their officers were searching in and around a Senate office building in response to "a concerning 911 call."

"Please stay away from the area as we are still investigating. We will continue to communicate with the public here," the agency tweeted.

In a follow-up post on Twitter, Capitol Police said, “If you are inside the Senate Buildings, everyone inside should be sheltering in place as the report was for a possible active shooter. It should be noted that we do not have any confirmed reports of gunshots.”

In the bigger picture, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy driven by the latest focus on unsustainable economic policy, aka The Green New Deal. The efforts of the fiscal, monetary and economic policy are all aligned to shrink the U.S. economy, thereby creating the era of “sustainable energy” a possibility. Unfortunately, this is akin to a household intentionally shrinking their income while at the same time taking on credit card debt. The process itself is not sustainable.

(Reuters) – Rating agency Fitch on Tuesday downgraded the U.S. government’s top credit rating, a move that drew an angry response from the White House and surprised investors, coming despite the resolution of the debt ceiling crisis two months ago.

Traders’ immediate response was to embark on a safe-haven push out of stocks and into government bonds and the dollar.

Fitch downgraded the United States to AA+ from AAA, citing fiscal deterioration over the next three years and repeated down-the-wire debt ceiling negotiations that threaten the government’s ability to pay its bills.

[…] “In Fitch’s view, there has been a steady deterioration in standards of governance over the last 20 years, including on fiscal and debt matters, notwithstanding the June bipartisan agreement to suspend the debt limit until January 2025,” the rating agency said in a statement.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen disagreed with Fitch’s downgrade, in a statement that called it “arbitrary and based on outdated data.”

[…] In a previous debt ceiling crisis in 2011, Standard & Poor’s cut the top “AAA” rating by one notch a few days after a debt ceiling deal, citing political polarization and insufficient steps to right the nation’s fiscal outlook. Its rating is still “AA-plus” – its second highest.

After that downgrade, U.S. stocks tumbled and the impact of the rating cut was felt across global stock markets, which were in the throes of the euro zone financial meltdown.

A New York Supreme Court judge has quashed a pair of subpoenas brought by Manhattan district attorneys seeking emails sent by former first lady Melania Trump in a case against former President Donald Trump.

Prosecutors for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office had issued the subpoenas seeking emails from Melania Trump and other documents as part of Mr. Bragg’s case against the former president over alleged falsification of business records.

Poland names stumbling block with Ukraine

Warsaw will back Kiev, but not at the expense of its own interests, its deputy foreign minister has said

Reconciliation between Warsaw and Kiev is “impossible” without the latter's recognition that the WWII mass murder of ethnic Polesin Volhynia by Ukrainian nationalists was a genocide, Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski said on Wednesday.

Relations between the neighbors are “unfortunately not the best” at the moment, “due to recent statements by some of the Ukrainian authorities,” Jablonski told the Polish broadcaster RMF24. Poland understands the “emotions” that arose because Ukraine is “under attack,” he added, “but it should not attack its allies, either.”

“We support Ukraine to the extent that it meets the national interests of Poland. So it has always been and always will be,” said Jablonski.

While there are “many issues” on which Warsaw and Kiev disagree, the WWII-era massacre is by far the biggest problem. The Polish government classifies the murder of up to 60,000 ethnic Poles by Stepan Bandera’s Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) in 1943-44 as a genocide, and has pressed Ukraine to allow exhumations, commemorations and prosecution of those responsible. In Kiev, however, Bandera is a national hero.

“There is no possibility of real Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation without settling this issue,” the minister insisted.

Poland has been the hub of NATO efforts to supply Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and equipment. It has also joined the push by six eastern EU members to block the sale of Ukrainian agricultural exports at below-market prices, under pressure from disaffected farmers.

Responding to Ukrainian criticism of the ban earlier this week, the Polish president’s foreign policy adviser, Marcin Przydacz, said Kiev should instead “start appreciating the role that Poland has played for Ukraine in recent months and years.”

Ukraine’s foreign ministry responded by summoning the Polish ambassador to protest that Przydacz’s statement was “untrue and unacceptable.” Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s deputy head of office, Andrey Sibiga, posted on social media that“There’s nothing worse than your rescuer demanding a rescue fee from you, even as you’re bleeding.”

Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki called Ukraine’s move a serious mistake, and vowed that “the interest of no other country will ever prevail over the interest of Poland.” Zelensky has sought to cool the tensions, arguing that the two countries are “a real shield of Europe from sea to sea” and that this shield cannot bear “a single crack.”

(Zelensky and Ukraine cheated on the grain deal when they were supposed to send the grain to Africa and poor country. Ukraine started selling in Poland and numerous other EU making their farmers lose out, Ukraine sold it so cheap the farmers in countries lost 100s of millions of dollars, the countries do not want Ukraine selling their grains or their pesticided grains in their countries. Ukraine had a hissy fit and demanded the EU allow them to sell in EU countries, when they are not even a member of the EU. In addition to Ukraine complaining about arms and money given also. Science, Hardware Launch on NASA’s Northrop Grumman Cargo Mission

A Northrop Grumman Cygnus resupply spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station with more than 8,200 pounds of NASA science investigations and cargo after launching at 8:31 p.m. EDT Tuesday from the agency’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website will provide live coverage of the spacecraft’s rendezvous with the space station beginning at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

Cygnus is scheduled for capture by the Canadarm2 robotic arm at 5:55 a.m., which will be operated by NASA astronaut Woody Hoburg with assistance from NASA astronaut Frank Rubio.

Northrop Grumman’s 19th cargo flight to the space station is the eighth under its Commercial Resupply Services 2 contract with NASA. The Cygnus spacecraft launched on the company’s Antares 230+ rocket from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad-0A on Wallops Island.

The resupply mission will support dozens of research experiments conducted during Expedition 69. Included among the investigations are:

Testing gene therapy: Neuronix, sponsored by the International Space Station National Laboratory, demonstrates the formation of 3D neuron cell cultures in microgravity and tests a neuron-specific gene therapy.

Experimenting with fire: The sixth Spacecraft Fire Experiments (Saffire-VI) is the last in a series to test flammability at different oxygen levels and to demonstrate fire detection and monitoring as well as post-fire cleanup capabilities. This experiment will take place after the spacecraft has departed the space station.

Measuring atmospheric density: The Multi Needle Langmuir Probe, an investigation from ESA (European Space Agency), monitors plasma densities in the ionosphere – where Earth’s atmosphere meets space.

Better water for explorers: A water system launched in fall 2008 provides water for crew consumption and food preparation on the space station. A new system, Exploration PWD, uses advanced water sanitization and microbial growth reduction methods and dispenses hot water.

High-flying art: For I-Space Essay, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) is sending a memory card that contains digital works created by students, such as pictures and poetry, to the space station.

Robotic helper: A cube-shaped Astrobee robot is on its way back to the space station to help reduce the amount of time astronauts spend on routine tasks.

Hardware upgrades to improve outcomes for researchers

Cygnus also will deliver a condensation module and heat transfer system for the Flow Boiling and Condensation Experiment that will help researchers better understand heat distribution and flow. Such knowledge could be used to enhance mechanisms that protect astronauts from the extreme hot and cold temperatures of space.

The station’s Cold Atom Lab, which makes use of the microgravity environment of space to study quantum phenomena in ways that aren’t possible on Earth, will get an upgrade that will give scientists more data in a wider variety of experimental conditions.

These are just a sample of the hundreds of investigations conducted aboard the orbiting laboratory in the areas of biology and biotechnology, physical sciences, and Earth and space science. Such research benefits humanity and lays the groundwork for future human exploration through the agency’s Artemis missions, which will send astronauts to the Moon to prepare for future expeditions to Mars.

The new regime talking points are out - namely that Fitch downgraded the US credit rating from AAA to AA+ on Tuesday because of MAGA Republicans and all things Trump.

But while Fitch cited "the expected fiscal deterioration over the next three years, a high and growing general government debt burden, and the erosion of governance relative to 'AA' and 'AAA' rated peers" as reasons for the downgrade, the Biden administration is of course blaming Donald Trump and his supporters due to one portion of Fitch's explanation: "a steady deterioration in standards of governance over the last 20 years," and that "repeated debt-limit political standoffs and last-minute resolutions have eroded confidence in fiscal management."

Then on Wednesday, Fitch's Richard Francis told Reuters that the downgrade was 'due to fiscal concerns and a deterioration in U.S governance as well as polarization which was reflected in part by the Jan. 6 insurrection.'

"It was something that we highlighted because it just is a reflection of the deterioration in governance, it's one of many," he said, adding "You have the debt ceiling, you have Jan. 6. Clearly, if you look at polarization with both parties ... the Democrats have gone further left and Republicans further right, so the middle is kind of falling apart basically."

And so of course, the Biden administration is blaming Trump.

"This Trump downgrade is a direct result of an extreme MAGA Republican agenda defined by chaos, callousness, and recklessness that Americans continue to reject," said Biden re-election campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz. "Donald Trump oversaw the loss of millions of American jobs, and ballooned the deficit with the disastrous tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations."

Meanwhile, White House spox Karine Jean-Pierre also blamed Trump on Tuesday, saying that the White House "strongly" disagrees with the decision, adding "it’s clear that extremism by Republican officials — from cheerleading default, to undermining governance and democracy, to seeking to extend deficit-busting tax giveaways for the wealthy and corporations — is a continued threat to our economy."

Former police officer Michael Fanone celebrated the newest indictment against former President Donald Trump by comparing the event to the U.S. military killing Osama bin Laden.

Fanone — a former Washington, D.C., police officer who was injured in the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol and who now works as a CNN analyst — expressed joy that Trump was indicted for alleged conspiracies related to the 2020 presidential election.

"When I first learned about the indictment, I had a long conversation with a friend of mine, Ryan Reilly, and I told him how proud I felt to be an American at that moment, much in the way that I did when I learned that our military had killed Osama bin Laden," Fanone said on CNN late Tuesday. "I just felt incredibly proud."

The comment appeared to catch CNN host Laura Coates off guard.

"These two seem comparable to you?" she pushed back.

When Fanone tried to dodge the question, Coates interrupted him and forced him to respond.

"I believe they're comparable," he said. "Osama bin Laden was a terrorist who committed a horrific act against American people and against our republic. And I believe that Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed horrific acts against the American people."

The statement clearly made Coates uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, she did not ask Fanone to clarify the "horrific acts" that he alleged Trump has committed, but the content of her follow up question — asking Fanone whether he believes his rhetoric may help "cloud people's view of this indictment as a fair process" — suggested she thought the statement was extreme.

"You can imagine that is a very eyebrow-raising statement, to say the least, the notion of Osama bin Laden in comparison to Donald Trump," she said.

So what explains the likes of Stephen King tweeting what is going to age very poorly? He just destroyed any chance he had of appearing fair and impartial because some day his tweet will be used AGAINST him when he invariably complains when the conspirators are arrested, tried, convicted, and imprisoned/executed for treason.

This is just one example, same principle holds for all the leftists publicly calling for Trump to go to prison.

Ukraine giving up on Western battle tactics – NYT

Using NATO doctrine, Kiev’s forces charged through minefields under heavy fire

The Ukrainian military is abandoning the battle tactics of its Western trainers and returning to a strategy of longer-range stand-offs against Russian forces, the New York Times reported on Wednesday. However, itremains unclear whether Kiev has enough ammunition to sustain such a plan.

Since it began in early June, Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive has been acknowledged by officials in Washington and Kiev asdisappointingly slow at best, and a failure at worst. Attacking through Russian minefields without air support, Ukraine’s Western-supplied tanks and armored vehicles have been picked off by Russian aviation and artillery, and Moscow estimates that the offensive has cost Kiev at least 30,000 men.

At the forefront of the offensive were Ukraine’snine NATO-trained brigades, one of which – the 47th Mechanized Brigade – reportedly lost 30% of its American-made Bradley Infantry Fighting vehicles in two weeks.

In response to these losses, “Ukrainian military commanders have changed tactics, focusing on wearing down the Russian forces with artillery and long-range missiles instead of plunging into minefields under fire,” the New York Times wrote, citing “US officials and independent analysts.”

With training times limited, the Ukrainians struggled to put NATO-standard combined arms tactics into practice, the newspaper noted, citing incidents where one Ukrainian unit strayed from a safe path into a minefield, and another where an infantry unit failed to follow an artillery bombardment with an assault on Russian lines, giving the Russian defenders adequate time to prepare a counterattack.

American military planners began training Ukrainian troops in maneuver warfare in a bid to conserve ammunition. “As they place more emphasis on maneuver… there’s a good chance that they’ll require less artillery munitions.” US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin explained in February. (Doubtful, they use quadruple the amount of any army ever.)

Although NATO military doctrine typically assumes that maneuver warfare will be conducted after Western forces have established air superiority, Ukraine launched its counteroffensive lacking this critical component of the strategy. Nevertheless, Western officials and media outlets heralded Ukraine’s new NATO playbook as a “hidden advantage” that would help “give Ukrainian forces the agility and speed they need to overcome Russia’s preferred war of attrition and to recapture Russian-occupied territory,”according to Foreign Affairs magazine.

The fact that this did not happen “raises questions about the quality of the training the Ukrainians received from the West and aboutwhether tens of billions of dollars’ worth of weapons…have been successful in transforming the Ukrainian military into a NATO-standard fighting force,” the Times wrote.

With the Ukrainian military apparently returning to an artillery-heavy fighting style, the issue of ammunition will likely return to the forefront. US stockpiles are already depleted to the point where Washington is sending cluster munitions instead of NATO-standard 155mm shells, and the Times stated that by burning through its limited ammo, Ukraine risks “disadvantage” in a “war of attrition.”

Many white conservative writers would prefer to avoid writing about the topic of race relations. I’m one of them. One reason is that many white conservatives have or have had black friends, and there is often that underlying feeling that a discussion about race could put those friendships on uneasy ground. And of course, any time a conservative puts pen to paper or takes to a keyboard to tackle the issue, they are automatically accused of being racist. Then again, a conservative could write about a recipe for a tuna casserole and be accused of being racist. So I guess that point is moot.

The male-born American journalist, who came out as trans in 2019, enlisted in the Ukrainian military last year

Ukraine has selected transgender journalist Sarah Ashton-Cirillo to run itsmilitary’s English-language propaganda operations, local outlet Strana reported on Tuesday.

Ashton-Cirillo, who was born a man and came out as transgender in 2019, hosts the state-sponsored news program‘Russia Hates the Truth’— an official project of the Ukrainian Defense Forces – the purpose of which is said to be “countering Russian propaganda, disinformation and lies.”

The news outlet posted a clip from the latest episode of the program, in which the trans voice of Kiev describes the recent drone attacks in Moscow as the culmination of a “prophecy” by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and insists that “Russia is defenseless, especially at home.”

The journalist, who traveled to Ukraine last year to enlist as a combat medic, also hosts a program called ‘Ukraine in the Know’, described as the “official English language news show of the territorial defense forces.” (So that is why Zelensky got rid of all objective media in Ukraine except state sponsored propaganda)

Four months after sustaining injuries during the battle of Bakhmut in February, Ashton-Cirillo was sent to the Territorial Defense Forces’ headquarters in Kiev and tasked with overseeing English language media projects. Before taking up the new position, the media darling took a trip back to the US to gin up support for continued funding for the Ukrainian military. Washington has pledged $46.6 billion to Kiev’s armed forces – more than half of the $76.8 billion it has sent to the country in total since Russia’s military operation began last year.

Whileinsisting Ukraine values free speech, Ashton-Cirillo haswarned journalistswho do not support the Zelensky regime that theyshould expect a similar fate to that of Gonzalo Lira, the Chilean-American commentator who was arrested at his home in Kharkov by the SBU and was expected to be sentenced to five to eight years in a labor camp before staging a failed escape attempt this week.

Ashton-Cirillo told El Pais in May that there was one other trans soldier in the Ukrainian military, a native Ukrainian, but that the profusion of media coverage of Ashton-Cirilllo’s own adventures washelping to “normalize gender diversity” among a conservative population. At the same time, the Florida-born journalist claimed to have “pour[ed] myself into my work and [left] gender identity aside” and to be “fighting for the freedom of everybody” rather than “any particular collective.” Less than a year before that, Ashton-Cirillo told Xtra Magazine “I’m doing this [traveling to the frontlines of the Ukraine conflict] for the trans community.”

The focal point of the crisis is the Roosevelt Hotel on Park Avenue and 45th Street.

Migrants from all corners of the globe have made their way into the United States, only to find upon arrival that the system is not able to accommodate them. While states along the southern border have bore the brunt of the influx of people, so-called "sanctuary cities" across the nation have begun feeling the impacts of unfettered migration as well.

Perhaps nowhere is the crisis more apparent than in New York City, where economic migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers alike have been forced to crowd the streets, with only a lucky few being provided shelter and a regular supply of food and water.

Footage taken in midtown Manhattan on Tuesday shows just how out of control things have gotten. The focal point of the crisis is the Roosevelt Hotel on Park Avenue and 45th Street, in front of which hundreds of migrants have been parked for days awaiting help from the city.

The hotel was shut down in 2020 and refitted to act as an "asylum seeker arrival center," one of over a hundred set up across the city.

Outside the once-swanky establishment, migrants and their belongings brave the sweltering heat in hopes of receiving food, water, and shelter from whoever can provide it.

According to the Daily Mail, most of the migrants came from Africa, Asia, and South America, and while they spoke different languages, they all shared frustration over the time it has taken for authorities to process people.

"We can’t stay here night after night," one man from Mauritania said. "The application process is so slow. Since the morning, they haven't taken one person and more people keep coming."

New York City's migrant woes began last year. Since then, Mayor Eric Adams has admitted that it has turned into a crisis.

"Now that we have run out of room," he said on Monday, "we have to figure out how we're going to localize the inevitable that there's no more room indoors."

He emphasized that New York City "is not going to look like other cities with their tents up and down."

His administration recently sent out a flier aimed at deterring prospective migrants from coming to the city.

"Since April 2022, more than 90,000 migrants have come to New York City," it reads. "There is no guarantee we will be able to provide shelter and services to new arrivals ... Please consider another city as you make your decision about where to settle in the US."
