Have your feelings about the main six ponies changed since you first started watching this show? I feel like mine have.

Here is my current ranking of them:

> 1. Rainbow Dash

> 2. Rarity

> 3. Twilight Sparkle

> 4. Pinkie Pie

< 5. Fluttershy

> 6. Applejack

Not much has changed except Fluttershy. She use to be at #2 when I initially began watching FiM way back in season 2, but has since dropped all the way down to #5 over the years. I hate to say this, but I blame it entirely on her newfound confidence in recent seasons. Her past self use to be this hyper shy, antisocial, scaredy cat, and adorable character you just wanna hug and love. But now with the newfound confidence she's gained, it feels like the things that made her character unique and standout in the first place are gone.

Everyone else's placements have stayed relatively since my season 2 days. Rainbow, Rarity, Twilight, and Pinkie have all only gotten better since then imo. Applejack still sucks as ever.

Twilight, although she has changed, has remained the most believable, sane, and relatable. Applejack has relatable elements & depth to her personality. Rarity is mediocre, but again, she's still comparatively normal. Rainbow isn't called topcunt for nothing, she's consistently shown to be an autistic moron who hasn't the faintest of what a 'social cue' even means. Pinkie has gone from kiddy but likeable and bubbly party girl to annoying aspergers pony. Fluttershy has gone from shy and awkward girl to Rainbow-tier topcunt, mixed with a splash of retardation and unlikability.

Seriously,Rarity felt like a bitch and like too damsel in distress for my taste,unbearable at times t b h.However,my views have changed a lot on the characters:

Now,I don't dislike any of them.I have the podium very clear but I don't know where to rank AJ, RD and Pinkie. It really depends of the coffee I take in the morning.

I began to admire Rarity as time and episodes went on (the turning point for me was Sisterhooves Social)and it also applies to Fluttershy and her development after her self confidence episodes(more or less during S4)

I liked RD because of her mascot imagery and as a first introduction for a cool and badass character.She is an idiot in the end,but she has her moments.I just simply put Pinkie at the bottom because her personality is really divergent from what I like,but that doesn't prevent from enjoying the happy positive vibes and jokes she brings on the table.

And Twilight,well I loved her at first and I still do.

Fluttershy was fantastic in Season Two and awful in every other season, Season One included. In Season One she was a load who needed to be coddled and protected, and in Seasons Three and beyond she was characterless. It's such a waste that they never really did any more with all the internal conflict we saw in Season Two Fluttershy. For one brief year she was identifiable and full of dramatic potential. I want that Fluttershy back.

I decided that Rarity was my nigger when she cheered for Fluttershy when she was getting booed on the runway despite the whole jealousy thing. That was an extraordinary display of brotasticism.

Season One

1. Rarity (three top-tier episodes and loads of internal conflict)

2. Pinkie Pie (enigmatic, unpredictable, surprisingly deep)

3. Applejack (a one-note joke but a funny one, played well off Rarity and Rainbow Dash)

4. Rainbow Dash ("Sonic Rainboom" was tits, able to be an asshole without being unlikable)

5. Twilight Sparkle (witty and fun, annoying when she is in episodes where she is not needed)

6. Fluttershy (total load)

Season Two

1. Fluttershy (whoa, where did all this complexity and depth come from?)

2. Twilight Sparkle (on-screen just enough, neuroses make for great comedy)

3. Pinkie Pie (more cartoony but also provides more laughs)

4. Rarity (brilliantly conflicted in some episodes, flandersized in others)

5. Applejack (apples)

6. Rainbow Dash (Top Cunt in full-cuntiness)

Season Three

1. Pinkie Pie (by default, "Too Many Pinkie Pies" was good)

2. Rarity (hardly appeared at all which really worked in her favor)

3. Rainbow Dash (still a cunt, but she has a great dynamic with Fluttershy)

4. Fluttershy (good dynamic with Rainbow Dash, awful dynamic with Discord which really hurt)

5. Applejack (clichéd family stuff but not unlikable)

6. Twilight Sparkle (YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT ALL UP! DAMN YOU! GODDAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!)

Season Four

1. Pinkie Pie (now very cartoony but her episodes are legitimately funny)

2. Rainbow Dash (finally gets some direction in life, likeable dummy)

3. Rarity (also more cartoony, she and Applejack have gone full-on "old married couple")

4. Applejack (funny as hell with Rarity, not so much without)

5. Fluttershy (all but disappeared)

6. Princess Twilight Sparkle (what? you can't just do nothing with her!)

Season Five

1. Rarity (single-handedly rescued the season and the franchise after the mid-season hiatus)

2. Princess Twilight Sparkle (hey, she is doing stuff now, and as hideous as the Castle Playset is it still make some sense of her princessness)

3. Rainbow Dash (oddly more identifiable now, a good mix of capable and in need of her friends)

4. Applejack (gets a rare bit of character exploration, still fairly flat)

5. Pinkie Pie (still funny, but the flandersization is getting painful)

6. Fluttershy (and what would you say it is you do here?)

Season Six

1. Applejack (gets a lot of screen time, seems almost like the main character as Twilight and the others disappear)

2. Rainbow Dash (fulfills her ambitions, really has nowhere left to go)

3. Rarity (ditto)

4. Princess Twilight Sparkle (new dynamic with Starlight Glimmer is under-explored)

5. Fluttershy (internal conflict is gone, not much of a character anymore)

6. Pinkie Pie (Daffy Duck with hooves)

Season Seven

1. Rarity (the new dynamic between her and the maturing Sweetie Belle is a highlight of the season, a couple genuinely good episodes)

2. Princess Twilight Sparkle (new princess duties, some of that old neurotic scientist shows through, a breath of fresh air)

3. Rainbow Dash (her role in "Secrets and Pies" was classic, did little else of note)

4. Pinkie Pie (ditto)

5. Applejack (are you still here?)

6. Fluttershy (ditto)

A princess in Equestria should occupy some seat of power. It was silly to have her in the library. The Castle Playset looks awful, it is in a ridiculous place, and there is still no explaination for its existence. Still, if Twilight is going to be a princess, she needs to act the part.

I can’t remember what my list would have looked like when I joined the ride in S2, but my opinion of the M6 has definitely changed since then. Twilight actually used to be my favorite of the bunch back when she was just the nerdy girl who lived in the library, but that changed after she got hit with the “buy our toys” curse. I think I could say the same about Pinkie and Rarity too: I used to like them until they got a bit too one-note. I know there’s been somewhat of a resurgence in Rarity fans recently, but I don’t see it myself. I put AJ and flutters at the top not because my opinion of them really increased over time, but more because they stayed the same while everyone else kinda fell. I’ve never really liked RD. I get how the competitive tomboy thing appeals to some people, but she’s still a cunt and continues to be a cunt even after 7 seasons.
