It's friendship. But on a blimp. Brand new writer on this one and it looks like it might have echoes of Twilight Time. Honestly not much else to say about this, my mind's been on the movie for much of the week. We have about a month left of season 7 before the hiatus and the wait for season 8. Is this the last one? Who knows?

Well the episode had Thunderlane, which puts it up there immediately for me. Bonus as it also includes his brother and their relationship plays a part through the whole thing.

The story and moral are kind of weird. Since it's more an exploration of a concept of the shows universe rather than something a kid would actually feel in their real life, but I think it parallels real life enough to resonate. There's at least a little bit of overlap with anxiety of wanting to do or be something that you have absolutely no talent for.

The only problem was that the episode had several smaller fun moments, but no real standout parts. Which might have been the voices if I'm being entirely honest. Given their newer roles they really need to bite the bullet and mature up the CMC just a bit into at least a preteen model and write them just a tiny bit more mature. Now that they're mentor figures having them look and behave like others is a little distracting.

Rumble was god damn adorable though.

Okay, so now that Twilight's parents have established personalities the story that I was in the middle of writing is completely AU. Oh well. I had the idea that the kind of parents who would create a reckless neurotic who is utterly terrified of failure, like Twilight is, would be an overprotective father and a demanding "Asian Mom." Everyone always used to blame Princess Celestia for Twilight being the way she is was, but I think that it would make more sense if it were her parents.

It was good to see Iron Will again, he was pretty funny. And I enjoyed Twilight experiencing the negative impact of fame and notoriety; I don't recall them doing something like this before, it was nice to be reminded that Twilight might not be used to the whole princess thing. I enjoy it when characters display with negative emotions.

And it was nice to see the Sparkle parents get some real screentime after 7 seasons.

So, since the rest of the episodes have been leaked and uploaded to most streaming sites, is there gonna be new threads for them, or will it all be in this thread?

Season 7 has been pretty close to okay.

Of course, DWK has been as close as I've watching an episode directly. I tried watching "rarity for you" ep and EVERY TIME RD tries interviewing for Rarara's assistant, I cringe out and close the video. Most other episodes are the same…half way through.

Or watch DWK cuss at the characters. That's fun.

Why do Twilight's parents have Midwestern accents? They are from Canterlot, or at least they have lived there for decades. It seems to me that they should sound more like Jet Set and Upper Crust.

How worthless is Cadence? She is as much a princess as Twilight, yet she allows Twilight to do all the work on the tour. Does The Abomination keep her so busy that she can't sign a few autographs?
