Nah, bro, this show's not a good representation of friendship.
I prefer friends what truly stick around ,regardless of what you say to them.

More like I don't consider what others'd label as 'friends' actually friends.
I only have one real friend, as far as I'm concerned. That's enough for me. That guy's practically family. I'd drive cross state for him.

The opposite, mate. I don't tell my friends to fuck off. If a friend tells me to fuck off, though, I'm still going to pick up the phone the moment they call, because I'm not some pussyfooted faggot what abandons people at the drop of a hat.
All this said, I have a lot of "friends" in the typical sense. What most people consider "friends", as folk who ask them to hang out, or chat about their day, or play their little jokes and whathaveyou.
It's just that I do not consider them friends. They're not the kind of guys what'd drive out for me, and I'm not about to do the same for them.
9d53f9 No.296402
Giving it some thought, actually, I have three. It's just that the two have all moved a far ways away, and so we've not been in contact in a year or two.
But, like I said, I'd still drive out for them, so I guess they're still in that realm.

That's right, they tell you to fuck off.

That is called "being an annoying cunt," and it probably has a lot to do with why they told you to fuck off in the first place.

Well first I'd like to clarify I'm not OP and I live in the US
I have flown as well, and only need to when going from west coast to east coast, but if I'm going somewhere on the same coast, I'll just drive
199c26 No.296446
>>296440
Really? If I have to go from L.A. to Seattle, I am getting on a plane. It's only a couple hundred-some bucks, which is about what you would spend on gas and motels anyway, and you don't have to spend two or three days on I-5. Hell, I would fly to San Francisco if the airfare were a decent rate.
3b869c No.296449
>>296446
It's a 50/50 chance that I'll drive up the west coast
However, when it comes to the east coast, I could drive up and down it for days and still enjoy myself for some reason
39dd66 No.296450
>>296449
The "for days" part is what keeps me from doing that. Life and vacations are too short to spend too much time on the road. Flying you get there on the same day and usually still have daylight to spend getting settled in.

>answering the phone when a friend needs you is 'annoying'
You must be popular at parties.
>>296421
This. It's a fairly significant time investment, and often a decent sized expense.
It's an easy metric to judge quality of friendship by, as they'd have to be willing to sacrifice the time, energy, and money, to do so.
>>296431
Because I am not some cityfag cuckold living off mommy's dollar.
Flying is expensive. Driving is much, much cheaper. Typically, anyway. You can get by on long distances, some, but for anything say, Mobile to DC, I'm going to drive. It'll save me.
9d53f9 No.296499
>>296446
LA to Seattle doesn't look like it's that long, so much. A two-day trip, I'd say. Combined with gas prices and food, along with I guess at least one hotel stop, you aren't saving much. Though, I'd argue, you're going to have to get a rental or rely on your friend if you're up there, which is like to be an extra expense.
Oh, and of course you can haul your stuff, without plane restrictions or extra expenses.
A lot of this depends on the deal you get for tickets, the car's mileage you have, and how long you can drive for. I've done a 12 hr drive before, but I don't think I'd go any further than that.

Just have people you are friendly towards occasionally but don't hang out with. Having friends is a hassle, I haven't had really good friends in years. I've had decent friends more recently but we had little in common so maintaining that friendship wasn't worth it in the end honestly. Maybe I'll make friends again eventually but I'm honestly done putting in a tonne of croft so I can appear more normal I don't need to pretend like I love clubbing and do nothing else but watch Netflix and play sports or whatever gay shit people consider worthy use of their time.

Seriously, how did the South manage to get so spectacularly stupid? Is it the carcinogens from all the coal plants, the fetal alcohol syndrome, the junk food, or some bizarre effect from living in 100% humidity all the time?
63771e No.299102

The north and south both can be stupid.
The north has this endearing yet flawed and irrational idea that they must be super liberal and welcome diversity which is what is enabling Mexicans who want to reclaim the southwest and Islamic extremists to wage jihad the south has an endearing hold to tradition and customs, albeit I'm not very Christian and living in the biblebelt can be annoying. Alabama is pretty comphy. Everyone's really nice. Not like other place's niceness, say somewhere like Canada, or any of the more 'artsy' type areas, but genuinely nice.
Most people here, they don't seem to judge you too much, outside of thinking you're a bit stranger or whatever, if you don't really follow the traditions. Only complaint I have is they really like approaching people. I don't really like talking to folk while I'm shopping or whathaveyou. I'm usually just wanting to get home as fast as I can.
