WASHINGTON (KEPR) - Tri-Cities sheriff's deputies say they rescued two ternaged children from a '"deplorable" home filled with trash, urine and feces
'The smell was overwhelming': Deputies rescue children from home filled with feces, urine (KEPR)
Police were serving an eviction notice at the shitty home on Wednesday and noticed the foul smell and filth.
According to the deputies, it was some of the worst living conditions they'd ever seen. "This guy Jerry lives like an animal!" said Deputy Neptune, "in fact, the chicken coop attached to his bedroom is much cleaner than the filth in that house!"
The floors were so soaked in urine that when you stepped on them, it was like stepping on a sponge," Aaron Brilbeck said. "The smell was like a punch to the face when you first walk in."
Deputiy Neptune said he found two girls, ages 15 and 17, living amongst the trash.
The smell was overwhelming," Neptune said. "There was feces and urine everywhere. There was filthy furniture and two hot girls were sleeping on a dirty couch."
There were also eighteen chickens running wild inside the 450-square foot trailer.
Deputies said the girls' father was home when they arrived. They said the family was using a stove as a heater and the refrigerator and the toilet didn't work.
Children should not have to live in conditions like this," Neptune said. "…right now, the little girls are safe. They're with a new father figure, so yo speak. Investigators are looking into if charges will be filed against the former father."
Deputies said the girls, who weren't enrolled in school, didn't need medical attention, but Deputy Neptune administered pain killers, just in case.
