I should have realized the principle of the matter wasn't important, and just moved on, but instead I was a dumbass and I focused on the wrong thing.. the principal of the matter

I got taught a very valuable lesson about life

You will never win against the system

YOU CANNOT WIN AGAINST THE SYSTEM

Even trying is a waste of time

And I was arrested, after following the advice of an attorney, and trying to persuade somebody into doing the right thing and paying for the damage to my phone caused by one of their employees..

She smashed the screen of my phone in the act of stealing my phone from me while she was on duty at a restaurant and I was a paying customer…

For 2 weeks I tried negotiating with the owner of the restaurant to pay the $100 to repair my phone screen which I retrieved after calling the police and pulling it out of a garbage can she had thrown it into, which broke the screen…

In 2 weeks later I was so frustrated I went to an attorney's office, and explained the situation, and asked him if it was legal to write a contractual agreement not to sue somebody if they would simply pay for the damage to my phone…

I was worried it would be viewed as extortion, because I'm not an attorney, but I was using my layman's knowledge trying to remain within legal boundaries, which is the reason I went to the attorney's office in the first place

He told me it was perfectly legal

So I wrote out the agreement in front of the courthouse

I texted it to the restaurant owner, and was summarily arrested for extortion

(I'm an idiot because I inadvertently added the term "or criminal prosecution" after the term "civil litigation", which under Georgia law technically made it a felony)

But that's neither here nor there, because being arrested was actually a very good thing for me

I couldn't do drugs anymore because I was in a pretrial diversion program to dismiss the case, and it included drug testing…

And guess what?

It turns out it's a lot easier to quit doing drugs than you would think…
