Western governments are intentionally trying to reduce economic activity. There is no precedent for this. ▲ MY COMMENT: There actually is historical precedent and one example is when Russia in the 1920s fell into communist rule. The Soviet goal was to centralize power and control over the whole economy and do away with any resistance and opposition. They hated decentralization. They hated political opposition. They hated free markets. It was much like being ruled by monopolists where free markets were deliberately and systematically crushed and later outlawed. Self-sufficiency was despised and later deemed criminal. Wealth force re-distributed and consolidated under a tiny "elite" oligarchy and central bankers who propped them up. Very much the same with the British Empire and one of many reasons our American Founding Fathers risked their lives fighting them. Western nations have been hijacked by the same kind of criminal oligarchy. Much like the later days of the USSR, we are starting to see the balkanization and fracturing of vassal states as naturally happens when these extremists push the citizenry too far into demise. The end result being civil unrest, defection and collapse.
