If anyone is even here to notice anymore, there is pretty much no users left on 8kun, most boards are now abandoned except for some Q-faggots and heck, even the glow nigger feds gave up their State propaganda and fled. Anyhoot, might as well backup any info or tips you may need now, do your archives of 8kun if you desire now while this site still exists, it likely will be gone before 2022. Remember, be prepared, much harder times are coming, stay safe, never give up your guns and do whatever you can to be more independent and self-sufficient. I'll still check up now and then, not that it will do much good. This site is officially dead. I'll miss you Jerry and Johnny, and yes even Marshmellow Sally!

I agree with you about learning from the Amish, yes, and raising livestock has been covered in that thread if you look hard enough. But guess what? You'll need a lot more resources than just land and chickens for a homestead lol! Routine updated maintenance = tools and accessories and equipment. Self-sufficiency = rain water collection systems, wood burning stove and solar panels. Off-grid survival = battery powered or solar powered utilities with the ability to recharge them. You better have backup footware and clothing unless you want to make your own from rags too! Get it? I'm a homesteader, I live rural and I know you need a lot more than just chickens and land. You need tons of feed for that livestock for example, you need heirloom seeds, tillers, shovels and fencing for your garden area. A greenhouse helps. That takes time, money and resources to build alone! It ain't all fun and games, it's work and costs money.

If your talking about welfare, correct, that is going to end inevitably. Two scenarios conclude this, one: the inevitable hyperinflation in commodity prices due to mass national debt insolvency and devaluation of the US dollar and two: once us boomers start to die off within the next decade there will be A LOT less people around to pay all those govt taxes and a whole lot less skilled workers too. Recall I mentioned the book "Future Shock" written back in 1970, that all gets into this near-future predicament. It's not just us old folks that are shocked by threats of change, it's the younger generations that will be shocked when change is finally delivered (whether they really like the result or not). I'm not dissing anyone young either, there are a lot of skilled youth too who pay their taxes, just not nearly as much. Once we die out, that tax revenue gets drained big time. A huge gap. People without skills won't be able to work when need be. If people don't have a credible education in a professional career, they're fucked too. When the government comes for those who are rich? They're going to flee the country, they always do.
Only time will tell how future generations will recover from this shock in the system, and how they'll inevitably react. I suspect at the very least, a lot of political uprisings, riots, conflict, anger, distrust…. at the same time the smart ones will get out of dodge to form their own small networks and communities and local markets, salvaging goods and bartering may come back in a very huge way.
